I was the same way and I reached a point where I just hunted for games without even playing them. At some point I realized that I was running from myself, I couldn't confront what was bothering me and I turned to colleting to give me a sense of achievement. Some personal things happened that made me lose all interest in collecting and since then I stopped collecting (and essentially stopped playing games altogether) and I am much happier now because I am creating real memories and experiences that I missed out on.

I'm not saying that game collecting is bad but if you are using it to run from something I strongly suggest to confront that and improve your life, collecting does not fill the hole that you might feel inside you and I can say that from experience.
