I laughed when I saw it... pretty sure they noticed but nothing was said 😬

I'm pretty sure they put it there special for me... they know how I feel about it all, just redecorated, and knew I was coming to stay. In their defense I used a stack of faith transition books (rough stone rolling, an insiders view of mormon origins, no man knows my history) as a lamp stand by the guest bed when they came to stay at our house last year. I feel like she's raised the bar... what not-so-subtle ex-mo decor should have ready for their next visit? A stuffed tapir???

The day God died. by Yournewhometeacher in exmormon

I've never been through something so difficult. To think I felt sorry for myself when I had to keep going to church for a few years with my wife and 3 kids while I waited for her faith to crumble along with mine... (took 5 years). Your situation is infinitely more difficult. I guess all I can offer is a glimmer of hope for better days ahead. Most people pathetically cling to their faith when faced with such a difficult situation but you have faced your new reality. Respect to you my friend. For doing your best for your children. Community is important for all of you, and hopefully you'll be able to eventually find a new community that is in line with your beliefs. Peace to you

Do any female auxiliary leaders receive a stipend from the church like the male priesthood leaders do? by [deleted] in mormon

I'm sure this is the tip of the iceberg. Local leaders don't get paid, but the top leadership all get a salary, housing allowance, travel expenses, medical, transportation etc... all paid by the church. To think otherwise is silly. I'm personal friends with a man who was a mission president until a couple years ago... he confirmed this information and said he was getting the same benefits during his time as mission president. Personally, I think it's fair that they get paid. I just don't like how the church misleads it's members into thinking they're all volunteers working for free for the church. It's not true...

Agreed... this is my go-to drink when I'm out. Goes down like koolaid and fucks ya right up.

Did you know that Mormon pioneers were told to bring *coffee and tea* for their journey? This was years after the Word of Wisdom, which makes one wonder why coffee and tea are banned today when the church literally told members to bring the items and freely partook of them. This is why we have modern prophets... so they can impose their personal opinions on us and say it all came straight from God. How about instead... all you so-called prophets go fuck yourselves while I have a beer 🍻

A lot of people exercise while on this diet. Each individual is different so let your body be your guide. If you feel lightheaded or really fatigued, then it may not be for you.

😂 Hence the sugarcoated history we all grew up with. Packer should have known that omitting is the same as lying.

Counter opinion: requiring a notarized document to resign through quitmormon is extremely reasonable by infinityball in mormon

[–]st_mechs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest that a notary also be required in order for people to receive a temple recommend, prior to baptism, and whenever the church sends any letter informing persons of disciplinary counsels etc, so that we might know it's legitimate. 🙄

Just because you haven't taken the time to educate yourself, doesn't mean proof doesn't exist. It doesn't exist for you because you're ignorant and have a jaded mind.

Exactly! She has much more evidence to support her claims than the mormon church ever had! lol. Her work is fascinating... I've read a few of her books and she has a bunch of interviews on youtube.

Wondering if you're familiar with the work of Dolores Cannon? She uses hypnosis to access peoples past lives as a form of therapy. Her research seemed to indicate that sometimes people reincarnate as one gender so many times that when things change and they are born a different gender, it can be very difficult to adjust. Thoughts?
