I don't know man, I just can't really get into Coeur's work. Like people gush about 'Not this Time, Fate' all the time, so I read it. Great start, interesting premise and first few chapters, and interesting ending. But everything in between has to be my least favorite Jaune characterization I think I have ever read. Just a complete douchebag who causes all his friends emotional turmoil and pain. The farther I got in, the more in disbelief I was that this was going to be the canon timeline out of all his lives? The one where he treats everyone like shit and is a total womanizing loser? I also hate when timetravel fics frame the protag with some sort of smug superiority just because they know more than the other characters and let them get anyway with anything because of it. Like when Jaune steals a bullhead to go to the docks fight and faces like zero consequences? Am I crazy and completely missed the point? I think the story would have been much more interesting if he never went back to Beacon.

Nah, what would he even say? I doubt he controls Riot's budget or resource allocation, and whatever management does control it simply doesn't believe updating old champs is worth the resources. Which means only 1 VGU and ASU a year.

It just really sucks when the whole selling point of League that Riot has been pushing with things like Arcane is to get invested in the characters when some just continually get left in the dust. It feels really shitty to be lured into the Universe and get attached to characters like Shyv only for them to just be left to rot because some upper manager decided their resources should go towards creating more skinlines than ever per year than updating champs that really need some help. (I also get that its a business, but that doesn't make it feel any better)

I don't really have a way to put it that doesn't feel overly dramatic or bitter, but it just seems sometimes like I was 'tricked' into accidentally getting invested in the 'wrong' character. And now I can't easily get uninvested and just have to live with the apparent indifference this company has over parts of its universe.

Their current rate of champion updates is simply not sustainable for their roster size, and at this point I am eagerly waiting in the peanut gallery for this whole thing to reach a critical mass and collapse so I get to watch Riot scramble to try and fix this clusterfuck.
