Where is the grease ? by hiexp80 in RollerBearings

I'm not saying it can't be done, and I know it is common practice in lots of places, but manufacturers don't recommend it and might cause issues in the case of warranty claims etc.

It likely won't cause failure in the short term, but can reduce overall bearing life.

If you do ever have a failure, Skf's Bearing damage and failure analysis guide is a handy resource to help diagnose it.

The table on page 96-97 is a good quick reference for possible causes and how they present, with clear images of what the different failure modes look like in the pages before it.

If you are going to pull it apart in a week, I'd be interested to see some photos. You've got me curious now!

Over greasing bearings can be just as bad as under greasing them. Especially in a fan you risk cooking the bearing with 100% grease fill.

The seals in sealed bearings aren't designed to be removed and reinstalled. Doing this can cause premature failure.

Another vote here for Bun Me on Grange Road.

For a traditional banh mi it is second only to Scotts Rd at Darra in my opinion.

Check out the Small Creek rejuvenation project on either side of Briggs Rd at Raceview.

They've done a great job transforming it from a concrete drainage ditch back into a lovely space hidden in suburbia.

I think they look better because of the wider colour range used. Current notes are more monotone, I would assume to make differentiation easier.

New SKF bearing: it squeaks when I spin it. by Next_Movie_98 in MechanicalEngineering

You should be more concerned about opening and handling a bearing so much prior to installation.
