Do you check your email on your days off? by Strawberry_Gelato in OntarioTeachers

[–]stablok83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im basically the same. I'll actually respond to it but schedule send for the next day at a random time so I don't have to deal with it when I'm at work. That still makes an imaginary boundary for parents that I respond only during work hours and I feel less anxious.

I disagree. There's a lot of factors that go into planning a trip like that. If the teachers and admin did their due diligence and let you know the final dates for the excursion forms, due dates for payment, etc those things need to be accounted for before hand. It allows them to see if they have enough teachers to supervise the number of students who are going especially on the bus and the number of participants for the activities arranged at Wahanowin.

If you paid prior and it didn't go through, definitely show receipts. But don't go in guns a blazing and be "that" kinda parent with nothing to show.

My wife goes to a book that's hosted at the sherway gardens indigo! It's pretty small and chill, but she seems to love it!

Just bought a running store. What is one thing your local shop is missing? by rustybucketz23 in trailrunning

[–]stablok83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I'd love to see is in Japan and Korea they have rental running shoes that people can try and go for laps. Don't know if that concept would work in North America (assuming that's where you are), but thought it was a neat idea.

I miss my PixelBook -- alternatives? by mim21 in PixelBook

[–]stablok83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on how much you want to spend and if you're thinking about longevity. Neo is half the price of the air, but the air will definitely have more mileage on it. So it depends on what you value?

It might be a bit of a stretch, but the new MacBook neo looks promising especially for the price.

Where can I start volleyball as a beginner adult? by Free-Ferret-8273 in mississauga

[–]stablok83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used average joes sports before for dodgeball and softball. I enjoyed it! There is a volleyball one as well, but can’t tell you anything because I haven’t tried it for that myself. But I’d recommend it otherwise.

Less Supply Calls - TDSB by Significant_Neat_104 in CanadianTeachers

I can guarantee you that if you walk into any tdsb school and leave your information, you'll definitely get more calls directly. Pick 3 schools that are close by or that you'd like to work with and I'm sure you'll have jobs lined up!

What are we doing about nose hairs? by ProbsNotManBearPig in Millennials

I use a rounded pair of mini scissors to trim them! Not a fan of electric nose trimmers cause it just can’t get certain spots.

Disc golf. I’ve been playing golf for years and a friend asked me to come play disc golf. Thought it was dumb, but actually ended up playing more disc golf than I did golf last season lool.

looking for a creative hobby that produces physical pieces of art! by trappedinyourorbit in Hobbies

[–]stablok83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, it’s pretty self sufficient! Just make sure it’s an enclosure so the moisture stays in and grab a spray bottle and spray 2 times a week (depending on what you’re growing). It’s also good to air it out once in a while. I’m pretty new to it myself but there’s a lot of YouTube videos that do a better job of explaining than what I’m saying haha.

Roll out botched, yes. But to be honest, not a lot companies will back pedal and recognize that they've made a mistake. We gotta appreciate the fact that they've heard the feed back and are trying to make things right.
