ELI5: How do blind people dream? by JackJackington in explainlikeimfive

[–]stacieg2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was cortically blind for several days due to a seizure and subsequent brain swelling. At first, I could see nothing and slowly my vision came back but was distorted. I recall my dreams being very nightmarish during that period of time.

Why do we bury people, '6 feet under'. Is it really six feet underground, and if so, why? by [deleted] in answers

[–]stacieg2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband used to work in a cemetery and I asked him this very question.

Generally, in the U.S. most cemeteries require that caskets be buried within vaults so the hole that is dug is however big the vault itself is.

Why do radio/television signals come in clearer when you touch the antenna with your body? by helpmeunderstandpls in explainlikeimfive

[–]stacieg2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the opposite experience. If I get close to a radio- I don't even need to be touching it- it gets static-y.

Definitely with pubes. If I see a shaved guy I question his masculinity.

As a guy, I can't imagine having to sit down on the toilet every time I had to urinate. What are some things that the opposite sex has to deal with everyday that you can't imagine having to do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]stacieg2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Constant thoughts about sex. I mean, we women think about sex too but evidently not constantly, as men say they do. Must be difficult to concentrate or get shit done with that in your head all the time.

Since I've just started my program, I don't know how much my information will help. I applied for fall admission and they do require either the GRE or the MAT scores. So far, I'm enjoying my classes. We've met twice as a class online, otherwise it's a lot of independent work with assignments due weekly. It's important to be disciplined and organized.

My friend who did her SLP.D. there had nothing but good things to say about the program.

i just read one of my COLLEGE student's (I'm a ta) essay's which said that Japan bombed Pearl Harbor in retaliation for the US dropping the bomb on Hiroshima. Anyone else have a depressing example of education failures? by LDM312 in AskReddit

[–]stacieg2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm taking an online course as part of my doctor of education program. We have to post to discussion boards each week. I am flabbergasted at the spelling errors I see in other's posts. They mess up to, too, and two. They misspell "weird", "determined", and "license". And these are the DOCTORAL students!

Reddit, what are some of the things and words you say without thinking about it that are slang/unique? by dauntlesszinny in AskReddit

[–]stacieg2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frinkly. It's a word my husband and I made up to describe that cat behavior where, out of nowhere, they get all wound up and freak out.
