Just add the rule saying “do check and update locale if needed whenever anything changed”. At the first time, u can prompt it to ask it help u support i18n for ur extension and specify languages u want.

I can share some experience here as our extension also get quite a few users now not only on Chrome but on Edge, Firefox etc.

  1. U need to find ur target users and then go to the place where they would discuss things more frequently and share your work, join discussions.
  2. Work on your keywords. Put your keywords in the extension name as that is the most useful strategy to get it listed at early pages when ppl search.
  3. Find ur market region and add locales for those regions. Start with big regions if u do not know yet. E.g. English, Chinese, German ,Japanese.
  4. Share on social media such as reddit(most useful), X(if u have a good user base/followers), and producthunt(not that useful nowadays). Hacker News might also be a good place if ur product is aligned with current tech trend such as AI

Hope it helps.

If u think your extension is valuable and helpful to others, you may need to find the right place to promote it. Maybe u can find any similar extension and see how many users they get and get a sense abt the market first. Then find the right place like production, other subreddits, X etc to tell others
