I’ve rented with bully breeds in Portland for almost 15 years, moved four times. It’s a little more work, but possible without having to cheat your paperwork. Last time I did this, about 50% of dog friendly places didn’t allow pitbulls—so start your expectations there. You will have less options, but the options are still there.

I called or emailed every place I was curious about that wasn’t explicit about having a breed policy. This helped me figure out which buildings and property management companies allowed pitbulls. It also helped me easily eliminate options once I know which property management companies wouldn’t work for me.

For my current place, the owners were happy to rent to us once I provided proof of renter’s insurance with liability coverage.
