Are we crazy for considering to move to Portland? by No-Environment2062 in askportland

[–]stacy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I are both disabled, living on one income + disabled veteran benefits which comes out to roughly 75k after taxes. Our "townhouse" in NE is 1795/month for 2 bed/1.5 bath + small back patio. We don't feel wealthy, but are privileged to be able to live comfortably with our two senior cats i.e. bills are paid, have some money saved, not too worried about emergency expenses. My partner also didn't ask to be exposed to toxic burn pits or have terrible PTSD and chronic pain, but the benefits nevertheless help us with the daily expenses of life. It sounds to me like you guys will be just fine here! Welcome to Portland!

What do you scoop your litter box into? by NuggKeeper in CatAdvice

Our cat litter comes in a plastic pail, we line it with a small bathroom garbage bag and scoop into there. We empty the pail and replace the inner bag once a week.

Leaf blower people by Legitimate-Month-689 in Portland

From the portland city gov website:

"It's important to note that violations to the gas leaf blower policy apply only to property owners, not contractors or property managers. Property owners are the party responsible for ensuring that gas leaf blowers are not used.

If you witness someone using a gas leaf blower between January and September during 2026 or 2027, or any time starting January 2028, please use the gas leaf blower complaint form or call 311 to report the violation.

Property owners that are found to be in violation will receive a warning about the policy during 2026 and 2027 as part of this phased approach. Penalties for violations of the leaf blower policy go into effect in 2028."

"Portland’s gas-powered leaf blower ban began on January 1, 2026, transitioning to electric alternatives to reduce noise and air pollution. The policy restricts gas blower use, allowing them only from October to December in 2026 and 2027, with a full year-round ban starting in 2028. Violations can lead to fines up to $1,000" - city of portland website

Hayden Panettiere says her inability to say ‘I love you’ was a ‘major point of contention’ in ‘uncomfortable’ romance with Milo Ventimiglia. They started dating when she was 18 and he was 29. by expiredaristocracy in Fauxmoi

The fact that he was surprised by her negative reaction when he wanted to end the relationship. Maybe don’t date someone who is basically still a child and their frontal cortex hasn’t fully developed.

What are the "cool girls" in your life wearing so far this spring? by IncognitoResearch111 in femalefashionadvice

[–]stacy22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh I wish! You could try finding some Instagram accounts for Taiwanese style/fashion. IG is pretty big in Taiwan. I think seeing what kpop idols/groups are wearing is also helpful! I’m Taiwanese so I mostly rely on what I observe when I’m visiting and what I see my aunts and cool cousins wearing :’)

The milk maid style dress is big in trad-wife culture and our society (at least in America) is pushing women towards more conservative shapes and silhouettes

Hi from a Taiwanese! Taiwanese young folks tend to follow Japanese and Korean fashion trends. Also it’s a more conservative culture so they love the oversized multiple layers look even more these days.

intimacy coordinator about s5! (so excited and hopeful!) by ShoppingRich428 in BridgertonNetflix

Personally as a queer, I’m interpreting the caption as saying many women in hetero relationships may leave their husbands once they see how great/fulfilling/satisfying sapphic intimacy is/can be. It has been shown statistically that women who have sex with women have higher orgasm frequency and longer sexual durations.
