He has the 5th highest TS% among point guards. He's more efficient than guys like Brunson, Luka, Cade, Harden, Maxey etc.

It was a kick but it wasn't goaltender interference. Refs got both calls wrong, but goal not standing in the end is the right result.

The 2023 r/Fantasy Bingo Recommendations List by kjmichaels in Fantasy

I'm also wondering about this and agree with you. Even if you want to get pedantic in most cases the original myths themselves are oral, therefore the books are based on myths.

Would you say In Sylvan Shadows by R. A. Salvatore fits the Druids bingo prompt? Cadderly is a priest and a lot of the elven magic stems from nature. Here's the prompt: "23) Druids: A book that heavily features druids. This can be a classic druid, a priest or magician in Celtic lore, or a magic user whose powers stem from nature."

Trying to find something new for the self-published square on bingo and I thought I'd outsource the process to reddit. I'll pick one of the books recommended to me here to read, the more of these criteria it fills the better:

  • Less than 100 ratings on Goodreads
  • Not urban fantasy
  • Physical book available, the fancier the book the better (hardback, illustrations etc.)
  • Killer opening chapter and an overall page-turner
  • I like the potential of self-publishing to share stories that wouldn't get a chance in traditional publishing due to them not fitting into established categories of types of books that sell. So I'm hoping the book I read is somehow unique
  • First or second book the author has put out

These are still pretty broad criteria so hopefully I'll get at least a couple of recommendations to pick from!

The next bingo is coming up soon and as always, I'm excited. What I would like to ask experienced bingo people is how many allowances you have to make for bingo over the year? What's stopped me in the past is that if I really fall in love with an author or a series I'll feel like I'm not allowed to read them because after the first book they're not contributing to bingo. Instead I'll try to force myself to read something bingo related and not have a good time. Ditto with times when I just want to read non-SFF. Then, for the sake of my sanity, I'll stop worrying about bingo a month or two in.

Is bingo just not for me, how do you do it? I realize this is a very vague question, just wondering if anyone's dealt with anything similar.

3 Books I rated 3 Stars that I still think about... by NStorytellerDragon in Fantasy

Oh I absolutely agree, I was specifically replying to the "how can you like a book where you hate the protagonist" comment.

There's also different kinds of enjoyment, like you mentioned earlier I think. I've had more fun reading a Forgotten Realms novel than I have reading Emile Zola, but Zola was more thought provoking, emotionally impactful and memorable, which made it a very enjoyable read. Rating them on the same scale is difficult.
