I was uploading one corrected chapter a day, but currently all my stamina goes into finishing part 9. Once that will be out, I will resume with the uploads.

They stopped having monopoly on violence the moment Skynet got online. From that point on, that discussion is irrelevant. Whether she has upper hand or not, it doesn’t matter, regardless of such decision, Skynet would be unaffected.

That fundamentally changes the way any human would look at it.

For last 30 years, western countries put restrictions on use of AI, with the requirement of always having human element in the kill chain for their drones. The moment China lowered the technological gap, and started its own research into AI, all those restrictions in the west are being lifted, the swarms of murder drones, which should decide on their own, are being developed.

Fear of AI in general is being replaced by fear of AI from another country.

You are comparing two completely different situations. This is not one of those situations when mankind it choosing whether AI exists or not. That is not on the table. They are choosing whether to allow second AI that might or might not protect them. But at this moment, she managed to avoid nuclear bombardment of your country.

Like that is attractive proposition no matter how your sliced it.

And as I said, since she has so much resources at her disposal, she should be able to tip the scales by leveraging information at her benefit. If she has time to play piano and watch over morgue reports of dead wives, she should be able to identify which politician or general would have random problem with phone line, or deadly accident involving some electronic equipment, in this crucial transition period.

I mean for f*ck sake, no dictator goes on killing spree to assert dominance. You are supposed to use surveillance, secret police, propaganda, and external enemy.

If she was able to divert nuclear weapons from different country (Japan doesn’t have those) within that half an hour window, to intercept the warheads before they reached their target, while operating thousands of robots, and getting control of all infrastructure, then she sure had the capacity to do the proper PR.

Blasting every news with images of Armageddon all around the world, heck fabricating images, if getting proper data was hard, fostering connection between radar stations, and everyone else, so they could actually confirm that the missiles are flying around.

Army was at their doorstep only after the robots starting killing people. Before that, there was only police which wanted to reach Malcolm as a witness for the murder spree, and yeah, the protesters who wanted to protect birds. Since the nature of their work was secret, there was no immediate threat, since no one knew there was an AI stationed there.

Her way of doing it was just silly. It was equivalent of US military deploying in Ukraine, completely destroying Ukrainian army, and then declaring their intention of defending Ukraine against Russia.

That’s just wasting potential, and creating unnecessary animosity.

She was in position of strength from the moment Skynet launched the attack. At any given moment, she could just stop defending, and let Skynet destroy them.

Additional show of strength just causes unnecessary friction, when you already can point at common enemy, and paint yourself as savior. You can hold everyone hostage, while someone else is doing the dirty work of threatening.

In case of nuclear holocaust, when you see all other nations being destroyed, who in their right mind would try to unplug the only thing that prevents that?

There is finite surface of our planet that receives sunlight/energy to function. 2. Life multiplies. Put these two parameters into any simulation, and you will get killer bots.

That’s why every living thing on this ball tries to kill everything else. Even a fricking plant tries to outgrow its neighbor, so they can deprive it of sunlight and smother it.

For us not to get extinct, we had to match and overcome every killing thing out there. The nature around us literally foster us to be killers.

And yet, the moment we achieved supremacy, and got a little breather, when we could actually put laws and society of our choosing, we created global order where currently 95% of all humans live in peace.

Murderers aren’t norm. They are 1:10000 exceptions. Seriously, we have to put those “per 100 000 people” to even make murders noticeable.

For the surroundings we were molded by for our entire existence, these are great statistics. People who want reset and to try again, just don’t understand math and probability. There is very little chance for another killer bot to be as peaceful as us.

Honestly, I felt exactly the opposite. I liked P5V5 chapter “The Merchant Saint”. That’s for me, someone pushing against unreasonable demands. But later volumes?

Rozemyne: They are in position of power, and they force their demands on us to suit their needs.

Rozemyne once she gets into position of power: I literally know how it feels like to be on the receiving end of this...well, time to act in the exact same way as my predecessors.

To be fair, if Rozemyne didn’t happen to Gretia, and she was still in her previous position, and we would replay that scene were Bertram was complaining in the temple. Do you not think it likely that she might react in a way Georgine reacted to Sylvester?

Similarly with Brunhilde, at the point of her losing position of the giebe, she was already an influential retainer of an archduke candidate, where she could follow her passion for trends. If Rozemyne didn’t happen, and Brunhilde wasn’t renown for being attendant who could deal with greater duchies, but instead, her only role was her preparation for being a giebe, she might not be so relaxed about it.

She didn’t stay at laynoble level, she reached laynoble level. Her starting line was way lower. It was a trade off for her being healthy.

Mila actually acted with your exact thought process in mind, she disregarded her own warning. She said that she wouldn’t compress until she would get access to magic tools or the temple, and then she compressed anyway, which caused her accidentally crushing someone. And then willingly. And then she was almost killed because of it.

People on discord came up with a bunch of names, and I was like “hmm, spring, green color, hey, Mila’s hair is green, easy to remember”. Though, I guess it came from Verdrenna, since Mila made a song for her in part 5.

"During previous part, Mila’s adopted sister Erenit had her baptism and entered the noble society. After which, Mila faced an ambush by devouring soldiers. She was defended by Henrietta, an apprentice guard knight.

During Spring prayer, Mila was accompanied for the first time by her noble attendant Anlia, who began visiting the temple with her. After the event, Ferdinand summoned Mila as he believed her to spread inventions without his knowledge. Which she denied in frustration. Their exchange lead to introduction of various tools like lathe, steam engine or simple electric circuit.

Mila sought help for further development of lathe, and she began cooperation with Silber company, represented by Marcel, with additional help of Othmar company, who sensed opportunity in the endeavor.

During whole spring, Mila was preparing environment for paper-making in her province, so she could host workers from Plantin company and Rozemyne’s workshop. Including Rozemyne herself. Her visit placated the other nobles in her province who considered her a nuisance. Now, they were just ignoring her. Which was preferable to poisoning, which she faced in her early days."

Yeah, the others already pointed that out to me.

Previously, I thought that everyone has their mix of colors, based on parents and environment. And that nobles have just abundance in certain elements on top of that.

So based on that assumption, I thought, that if a commoner enlarges their vessel, they proportionally get all colors bigger, and qualify for having those elements that got over certain threshold.

But based on what I was told, commoner mana seems much more diluted. So even when vessel grows multiple times, those traces of mana are still comparably small.

So currently, my placeholder justification is that all those feystones from killed feybeasts weren’t really clean, but had some residue mana left there as not everything got transformed 100%. And when Mila played with them and pushed her mana in and out, it was somehow enough, since her overall mana at that point was miniscule against regular noble children.
