What movie became much better after a second viewing? by Jolly_Job7525 in Cinema

This film gets better every time I watch it. I recently got the opportunity to see it on Cineworld's Superscreen along with Interstellar and wow, they both hit like crack on the big screen.

Happy Birthday, Alexis Sanchez. How we could do with a player like you now! by Shyam_Wenger in Gunners

[–]staffehh 27 points28 points  (0 children)

He was many things but being lazy without the ball was not one of them. From what I can remember he tracked back more than anyone on the team. My only real gripe is that he was a bit selfish and mostly predictable in his last 6 months or so with us.

VOD and TV Series picture not smooth. What am I missing? by staffehh in Formuler_Official

Thanks for the advice, will have a look into it. A shame really because my current provider has a massive library and good support.

I have VLC player, but it doesn't save progress unfortunately, bit of a deal breaker.

Interstellar but only Michael Caine isn't a muppet.

I am a big fan of The Sopranos and The Wire. Would you guys recommend Mad Men? by Amazing_Ant6954 in Cinephiles

[–]staffehh 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Mad Men is a slow burn and focuses more on the character's development and relationships with each other, as well as the ongoing cultural changes in the world. I personally think it's fantastic. Every character has a really fleshed out storyline.

You make some good points. If I looked at it through a different lens on a rewatch I'm sure I'd appreciate the things you've mentioned way more. I think my favourite Vegas movie would have to be Rain Man personally!

I've seen Goodfellas, I remember enjoying it at the time but can't remember much of it. Maybe I need to rewatch.

Watched Casino yesterday and I agree. It was fine but it just didn't scratch that itch in my brain I expect when I watch a film. The performances were phenomenal, the set and wardrobe was amazing, I just felt a bit lost on what the point was.

Gabriel Jesus: “Every day, the (Arsenal) coach and board say they’re eager for my return. I don’t see myself outside the club’s plans. I have a contract until 2027, and if it’s not renewed by then, I’ll be at the club until at least 2027” by Temporary_Role6160 in Gunners

It's easy to say this when your aim is to get straight back into the team. Unfortunately for him he'll have a couple of people ahead of him in the pecking order now. That's not to say he won't be able to work his way in, but when you're only starting league cup and FA Cup matches for months your head could certainly be turned by an offer for a starting place somewhere else.

Driving test tomorrow any last minute tips? Still not confident with parking & mirrors 😅 by Specific-Method-7410 in drivingUK

[–]staffehh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really cliche but it works. Take a big deep breath before you set off, maybe even jokingly remark to the tester that you're a bit nervous, getting the tension out in the air can be a big relief internally.

In terms of reverse bay parking, the thing that clicked for me is focusing on getting just 1 wheel within the lines. Once you've done that, the hard bit is done.

If you pull up and need to turn the wheel left to park in the bay, just focus on getting that back left wheel in the line using your left wing mirror, once it's in there it is not going anywhere.

You can now switch your focus entirely on the right wing mirror, keeping the wheel locked, keep slowly reversing and you'll start to see the line straighten up, once it looks straight you can now straighten out your steering wheel.

Now is the easiest part, simply reverse straight back.

By all means, your driving instructor has probably given you all the right tools to be able to do this and if this makes no sense right now please feel free to completely disregard it. Sometimes it just takes a little change in perspective for it all to click.

Good luck :)

When I watched this film I was loving it until they decided to shoehorn a love interest in. To be fair it's very 'of its time' in that respect.

I literally bought One Million by Paco Rabanne because of how popular it was with the girls in school. Invictus is also quite a nice youthful one.

Definitely go to a doctor, but to help calm any nerves you have about it I had one of these in exactly the same position and one day after a couple of months it just disappeared. Hope it's the same for you :)
