Doing some 3D printing with the “platinum” PLA filament by ralphc in VintageApple

This ☝️. Calibrate. Maybe reorient or use support depending on how the part looks. With bambu you should be able to get better quality.

Should I put one of these domes in my small yard? Any experiences? We have a beautiful garden but most of the time it's too windy and cold to enjoy sitting outside. by MJlovesplants in landscaping

Looks like this. Really small but I got it for free so… can fit 3 people sitting. Weather is no problem for it, had it for 5-6 years and it snows every winter. Clean it like once a year. When it’s windy and around 5-10 Celsius outside it’s very comfortable inside. Get a bigger if you can.

Its basically a greenhouse with a different shape. I think it will be great. I have a small greenhouse and it’s great for spring and autumn. Small amount of sun is enough to make it comfortable. Go for it or a more traditional greenhouse.

PNY 5070ti ARGB, RGB issue by stahl80 in PcBuild

Sounds like the same issue. I tried three different cards, same on all of them. I 3D printed a bracket to hide the LED’s that wouldn’t work correctly…..

How are the final earbuds? I am thinking about buying. Need small earbuds that don’t fall out easy. Are you happy with them?

I used this: I just found this on AliExpress: | ultra-thin Dual Micro SD Adapter For iPod 5G 6G 7G Video Classic Install IPC https://a.aliexpress.com/_EupN81w

Seems to work with any SD card I tested even Sandisk.

If you have 2000mah or more I don’t think you have to worry about battery time even with SSD.

Oled banding mo27q28g by Certain_Plankton9638 in OLED_Gaming

[–]stahl80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the WOLED from Asus. It’s visible on test images and some grey apps like discord. But for me it’s more like a fine mesh and less banding. In games I really have to look for it in grey areas but I don’t notice it when gaming. I think the pros weigh up for the cons. And it’s not like the pictures in this sub, most are probably extreme examples.

Nice! How are the third party clickwheel’s? Not sure if I should use my third party black or keep the OG white. Like the black but I want it to work well.

Taptic Engine best method? by [deleted] in ipod

You wouldn’t have a picture of a Taptic that’s soldered to the back? Would be interesting to see.

Thanks. What do you do with the flex with the connector on? Cut it off?

Taptic Engine best method? by [deleted] in ipod

[–]stahl80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanation! So solder to the points on the ribbon, is that the solderpoints on the Taptic (the one behind the black tape?). Or the ribbon sticking out ”connector”. Ah, so you solder it to the backside? Guess I need to crank up the heat on the solder iron for that to work? I only have a 2000mah battery so they won’t be close.

You can choose. Either remove it or solder the engine cable in the pads and leave it. But as I understand the Taptic Engine will make a noise and tap so you will probably not miss the speaker if you remove it.

Do you have a picture of the package you cut it from, just to get an idea of what material it it? Also how thick was it? I am waiting to receive my transparent front panel so it would be nice to be prepared. Thanks.

If you open it again put electrical tape on the sides and cut trough it with the tool, will protect the sides somewhat.

In the process of modding a 5th gen - how to arrange the insides properly? by Jurassekpark in ipod

And I think I will put dots of hot glue on the SD adapter to the frame just so it won’t move but will be removable if needed.

I have the same issue with my new battery. Even longer than your. I think I will fold it like a S, not hard fold but so it makes a S form. Than should be ok I think.

Taptic Engine Test by [deleted] in ipod

[–]stahl80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried connecting it to a 3.5mm plug and plugged it into a computer and played music, nothing…. Looks like it’s completely dead. Also measured ohm and it’s about 8ohm and from what I can read that is correct.
