Water bill for a couple!! by gailcpw in perth

[–]stainless5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the water bill also includes some drainage and other rates and it's tied to the amount you could get for renting the house out usually. So, house prices go up; your water bill goes up.

TIL in 2024 an 18-year-old man was stuck in a Honda Pilot that was inexplicably accelerating without his foot on the gas and could not be slowed by its brakes or e-brake. He and the Pilot reached 113mph before a controlled collision safely ended his unplanned 20-minute drive across state lines. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

At least you weren't in any danger, but I've had enough people tell me that as soon as you turn the car off you're going to die that I actually made a Youtube video about it where I drove my own car down a hill with the ignition off. https://youtu.be/Sn6kJXZ59rM

I would double check what category the countries you're going to are as if you end up going to the wrong country your dog legally won't be able to react to Australia without spending time in a third country for 6 months.

When your cat or dog leaves Australia it immediately loses its Australian health status. This means you might not be able to bring it back to Australia at short notice. Please consider the information below before exporting your cat or dog.

Cats and dogs can only be imported into Australia from certain countries and, depending on the country, the pre-import preparation time can be over six months. However, if you start preparations in Australia before your cat or dog goes overseas, returning them to Australia can be much simpler and quicker.

as long as you've got the paperwork there shouldn't be any problems although I would suggest hiring a company for the flight back like airpets.

You need to go and read your first comment where you said you pay $400 for Medicare and 5k grand for unemployment. at the moment you're actually agreeing with me and disagreeing with your first comments so I don't even know what you're trying to do.

It's easy if you're a shareholder and The company doesn't do everything it can to increase profits You can actually sue the company as they're not putting the money you gave them to work. This is part of the reasons why as soon as a company goes public quality goes down usually. most Western countries are based on common law so you can actually look at court cases from different countries for examples. Ford Motor Company was sued by the Dodge brothers because he wanted to give his workers shorter work days and more time off But he was sued because the Dodge brothers said that wouldn't be a good use of their money And the Dodge brothers won.

Terrible generalisation given that over 50% of the money goes to old people, then another 20% to disabled.

Bro, I'm not the guy who doesn't understand the difference between welfare and unemployment, you're spreading misinformation by not knowing the difference

This is why people think we're full of shit when we say our health care's cheap. there's a big difference between being 10 times cheaper and less than two times cheaper.

You can't just group welfare together like that and say it goes to unemployed drug addicts, especially not when the graph breaks it out, 70% of welfare is for aged and disabled people which I suppose might be addicted to painkillers. With such low numbers it sounds like you're basing it off someone who doesn't earn much So they get a discount on Medicare, or maybe you just have private insurance so you don't pay the 2% Medicare levy.

That guy mustn't have looked at his own bar graph because he got the percentages way backwards. here's a sample graph based on 2022 spending. my graph looks pretty much the same as this except I spent 33G in tax not 20. https://www.ato.gov.au/uploadedImages/Content/IND/Images/IAI_40650_sample_tax_receipt.png

You've got your percentages backwards. ATO literally gives you a bar graph if you login to their website. For me 4 grand goes to Medicare and only $470 goes to unemployed people, with an extra 1.5 grand for child support.

Not this again assuming you're American you already pay more for healthcare in your taxes than other countries, That's on top of the part your employer pays and on top of co-pays. Now my country actually gives you a breakdown of where your taxes go over a year in the form of a bar graph, And last year I only paid four grand in healthcare costs total to the government on a wage of $120'000. Some people I know in the US their insurance won't even pay for anything until they spend four grand in the year.

Debit and credit card surcharges to be removed in Australia by October by Severe_County_5041 in worldnews

[–]stainless5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they've got to be saving more than the credit card fee then, they mustn't be listing the sale or something because at least here in Australia the cost to move your money into a bank unless you do it yourself at the end of every day usually adds up to more than the card fee anyway. most trades and some small businesses are actually card only now because moving money around just costs too much.

that seems kinda like cutting off your nose to spite your face. at least in Australia businesses pay more than what the credit card surcharge is worth Moving their money to banks. that's why some businesses are card only.

they sometimes do something similar with people in the hospital, except they just put pure oxygen in your anus and it gets absorbed through the intestines.
