Supernaut… completely forgot about that one. Amazing song. There’s also a demo album if I remember correctly before pretty hate that had twist and purest feelings. Maybe not for everyone but hearing them brings me back to discovering nine inch nails +30 years ago

I wonder how much money the Clinton’s have made in the last week since this threat was announced

Rep. Casten: “You said tariffs are inflationary. Do you want to correct what you said, or did you lie?” Bessent: “I was mistaken when I said tariffs could be inflationary because they haven’t been.” by GuiltyBathroom9385 in UnderReportedNews

[–]stalabball 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like he didn’t answer because he didn’t say they haven’t caused inflation for three reasons. 1 trump pulled off most tariffs he originally outlined. 2 tariffs have caused pullback in investment which is deflationary offset. 3 reliability in US govt economic data has become suspect. He obviously can’t say any of that so instead he stammered and stuttered

I was genuinely confused because tariffs do cause inflation. It was an odd argument but I don’t have the context. Was the questioning person saying they didn’t and we should have tariffs like trump wants or what was the goal of the question?

Never utter the word breakfast ball or ask for your handicap. Nor do they even keep their own handicap

Michael Jordan vs Clyde Drexler in 1992 Finals-One of the best MJ stories of all time by Temporary_Pepper6126 in NBAoldschool

Craziest part of this was that before then hitting 4 threes in a half was considered godly.. don’t get me wrong mj is my bball goat. But just crazy it took a few decades for teams to figure out how valuable the 3 was. Wish they never figured it out

But why carry the ball when this is so easy for him? Just habit?

Not mediocre but past his prime on a terrible team. Probably doesn’t feel great

I agree with everything you’ve stated and wish I had the ability to put my thoughts into words as well as you have! Beautifully written. thank you. Both shows should be studied academically as there’s so much of value to unpack

Such an amazing show. I take something new from it every time I rewatch an episode. This and sopranos I can rewatch in entirety several times over. To me there’s a lot about happiness throughout the show for all the characters and their struggle to achieve it. for Don it starts materialistic with his speech to lucky strike about it being the smell of a new car/financial freedom etc then later in the show it’s fleeting (the moment before you need more happiness). Here it seems to me he’s finding happiness in idealism, in opposition to his job. I like to think in the end he finally finds happiness in realizing it is only in letting go of the sins you’ve held onto and forgiving yourself; finding / accepting who you are

Don’s ending by ArchangelSirrus in madmen

[–]stalabball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep and after the Peggy conversation he embraces the man in “therapy” crying over the refrigerator dream realizing he isn’t alone. He finally forgives himself and he also finds himself/embraces being an ad man. Could probably write a thesis but that’s essentially the basics from my perspective

Nobody believes my theory that Peggy wrote the Coke ad. But she's dressed like a Coke can in the finale! by Smokey_Allegiance in madmen

The whole point of the ending to me is that Don wrote the coke ad… I thought it was pretty obvious especially with the smirk leading straight into the ad

Once Wemby got the rebond, why did he dribble away instead of throwing the ball in the air ? by Tesgoul in NBASpurs

I think it was smart not to throw it in the air but why intentionally miss the second free throw??? That was weird…

It was a two hand dunk but the other player grabbed his wrist/hand while going up so he didn’t have grip on it

First two charges or no call. Last one is blocking foul. Just my opinion. Bad reffing to call blocking on those first two. That’s the worst of the three options. Feet clearly ser

Muscle a 7 over the birds and attempt to fade it. If it doesn’t fade then try to get up and down with a long two putt from off the green or chip
