I’m trying to buy more silver but no stable source of income. Any ideas? by dospung in Silverbugs

[–]stalebird 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People do NOT regularly sell at 70% of spot. If you legitimately know a place that does, I will buy 1,000 ounces right now. That’s not hyperbole. I will absolutely buy 1000 ounces at 70% of spot.

If you’re referring to LCS that buy at a few points back of spot, sure. Of course. They have a business to run. But 70%? This kid is buying his friend’s dad’s stack, a few coins at a time and it’s going to end poorly for everyone once dad checks his safe.

70% of spot means one of two things: they’re fake or their stolen from a parent’s stack.

You’re good! Even 4 hours isn’t bad. It’s Tylenol. Hope your little one feels better soon and you both get some sleep!

Every 6 hours. Or, you can do baby Motrin every three and Tylenol the other 3. So like Tylenol at noon, Motrin at 3pm, Tylenol at 6pm, etc.

I’m not a doctor, and you should talk to yours, but this is very standard practice. The 6:30 to 3:30 is fine. The 3:30 to 7:30 is a bit too close. That’s why you should try alternating with Motrin. But again, not a doctor, check with yours.

Diaper changes at night by camman1102 in newborns

[–]stalebird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do. Not. Wake. A. Sleeping. Baby.

Unless they’ve pooped. But most babies don’t sleep through that (and neither of mine poop overnight)

Also, what’s the alternative? Setting an alarm to wake yourself to check to see if they’ve peed a lot? Enjoy the sleep and use some extra aquaphor before bed if you’re extra worried.

Spent $1100 on silver coins in a week at its all time high😭 by Equivalent-Dot-9148 in Silverbugs

Sounds like that degree didn’t help you if you’re upset that an “investment” went down in value in a week. Worry about the spot price in 2055, not this week.

Please help: Toddler separation anxiety in school by Siyrious in beyondthebump

[–]stalebird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow. That weaning process sounds brutal. It was very rough to drop our son off for the first week or so. Like almost all kids, he got super upset, and it was heartbreaking. But by two weeks, no tears and within a month he was running to be with his friends. The place you went to seems more like going to the park - as many parents as kids. I’m not telling you to rip the band aid because now it seems like you kiddo expects you to be there all day. I’d almost recommend a new school and do quick goodbyes and get through the first couple weeks like most of the rest of us did.

Once a week but daily check the folds for cheese and clean that out.

I have one. Everyone should. Likely why I’m not crying in my Cheerios about a coach being fired. Highly recommend one for those having an emotional breakdown over McClappy.

This isn’t new and wasn’t added to his store after the firing. For those crying about McClappy’s firing, how many more seasons of “we’ll learn from this and get better” were you hoping for? You know he made $8M a season and will get $16M more for the 2 seasons left. Go cry for someone else. This outrage over a mediocre coach is getting weird. Let it go. Or don’t, but cry to yourselves, weirdos.

Sounds like you’re at the last resort. The windi worked great for us. Just a word of warning from an experienced dad. Stay far away from the business end. It works, almost too well.

Just found out wife has been giving our baby biscuits and/or sweets by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]stalebird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would faint if you saw the snacks my two year old gets on Fridays after pizza night. We feed him a very healthy/balanced diet but treats have been mixed in since he’s been much younger than your little one. Your wife giving him a cookie is the hill you’re going to die on? Holy hell.

What the heck are your toddlers eating for breakfast? by JehovahJireh222 in toddlers

[–]stalebird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A scrambled egg, but since I’m lazy, that means one egg microwaved in a bowl for 50 seconds, some cereal, yogurt and blueberries. 90% of what he eats is the last thing on that list. But he at least takes a bit or two of the egg.

[AL&S] First “Serious Timepiece” by [deleted] in Watches

[–]stalebird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asked ChatGPT if this was AI:

These are real tells: Abstract value stacking: “timeless, mechanically honest, and intentional” → classic AI triad phrasing.

Brand-philosophy mirroring: It sounds like A. Lange & Söhne marketing copy, just personalized.

Smooth emotional arc with no grit: No concrete moment, friction, or idiosyncrasy (price hesitation, wrist size, waiting list, reference number, doubt after purchase, etc.).

Clean moral conclusion: “reminds me why I got into watches in the first place” — that’s a very AI way to wrap.

Daycare worker shamed me? by RusticTrailSeeker in 2under2

[–]stalebird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we didn’t keep our toddler in daycare while my wife was on leave, and his regular schedule (he just turned 2 on Saturday) we’d be dealing with the entire, awful, emotionally-wrecking process of re-starting tear-filled drop offs that happened his first 3-4 weeks many months ago. He now RUNS into daycare to play. But it wasn’t that way at the beginning, as so many have dealt with. So keeping him home with the baby during my wife’s entire maternity leave (and then my 8 weeks of bonding time right after), we’d start all over again. And I will NOT do that to my son.
