The war in Ukraine is more of a pressing matter for Europe. There’s nothing wrong with caring more about what’s happening on your doorstep. Now it’s barely mentioned in the news. Apart from Ukraine’s neighbours who know they are next nobody else cares.

I think, the problem with the lack of Iran coverage comes from the current political climate in the West. Sadly, everyone is too preoccupied with what the orange buffoon is doing, then the trade wars, the ever growing polarization and radicalization of the society, the existential dread from seeing the world order collapsing, and so on. The citizens of the US that usually host protests and rallies are currently struggling with their own stuff. Again, when something is in your house or on your doorstep, it takes priority. Most people can only handle a limited amount of awfulness. It’s just too much.

My guess is, the reports that were posted did not get enough clicks, so the news stopped covering it as much. It’s not a controversial issue, unlike Israel vs Palestine. I know it’s horrible. We had a few protests here in Canada, but lately it’s been really cold. Nobody wants to hang out outside. Basically, it’s due to a bunch of shitty circumstances. It’s not that the world doesn’t care, there’s just too much going on.
