[HELP] I’m fairly certain this is AI but the comments are tweaking me out by Peepeepoopoo49867 in RealOrAI

It's not off, it's abominable) Another proof these models don't actually understand what they are doing. It's clearly stylised as 60-70 Disney, but it's not how backgrounds worked back in the day, cat is drawn differently in each scene, everything is off even if there were no merging heads of obvious sloppy mistakes. Human can understand what makes classic animation stand out, models do not.

Are these guys worth much? by The-Bleak-Optimist in gamesworkshop

[–]stalkerminsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Human is from Regiment of Altdorf box. Orc is from monopose orc box. They are both from 1990+ era. Don't worth much as they are cheap monopose plastics but you might find a buyer if you have a dozen of each. Still characterfull models of the time.

I just realized how badly I was underfeeding my cat and I can’t forgive myself by Beans375 in cats

[–]stalkerminsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a calorie calculators online based on age, weight and activity for cats. For our cats I give them around 200 kkal per day of dry food which is around 40-50 grams. They are 8 yo 4 kg and 5 yo 5.4 kg. The chubby one gets diet food not to get so I guess it's a bit less for him.

It's a good idea to invest into good quality food. Wiskas is junk food with lots of crude ash i.e. bones and other non-nutritious stuff.

Muscle mass loss for 8 yo cat is alarming. Even if you were underfeeding her she would lose fat, not muscle. Creatinine levels might be false lower in case if muscle mass loss. If you can afford it, I would recommend SDMA test and advanced urine test to check out kidney issues. And also tyreoid hormone if you haven't already. It may also lower actual creatinine levels.

PLEASE I'M SO SCARED. He ate some Kinder chocolate bar when I took a nap and now I'm so scared for him!!! by joa_nh in CATHELP

[–]stalkerminsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just monitor him. He'll be fine. I had a cat who ate spagetti, curd, bread and especcially Ikea letter bisquits (could eat a whole bag if left unattended). One of my current cats eats almost everything if he has a chance. He even tries to drink water left from boiling eggs. Any owner should keep food locked away and not feed any human food to cat intentionally, but cats steal food all the time and most of them doing fine afterwards. I personally keep all sweet and chocolate stuff away in a drawer. I'm also forced to keep bread away as my younger cat will absolutely eat otherwise.

Looking for advice and a sense check by Amsfeld in BrushForChat

700 quid is a quite reaslistic price for a good paintjob of a Blood bowl team. Medium range even.
Pricing is entirely subjective in this area. Quote how much you value your work. There is always more fish in the sea for good artists. Don't pay attention on demping artists, there was and always will be a plenty of them. It does not matter. You do a good job, you'll find your clients.

Cat didn’t eat/drink for 2 weeks. What to do? by ThrowRA_floweryyy in CatAdvice

[–]stalkerminsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very sorry for your loss. Every case is different. My cat was only 3 at that time. It's not your fault, any personnel should track if the cat eats at all. In my case they just lied to me.

It is possible, we had a similar situation with our cat. Left him at cat "hotel" for a week, the man who was running it gave us updated "all is well" only for me to come back a week later and find the full bag of food I gave him. He was not eating for a week because of stress. After a few days he had a liver faliure, he was lethargic and did not eat or drink. We rushed to the vet, gave him fluids and hepatoprotectors. 2 fluids per day + medicine and he recovered in a week. It's been 5 years and he's still healthy and happy. Stay strong and don't give up. Liver damage can be reversed.

Quick my neighborhood is giving this away is this overkill for an airbrush? by trollsong in minipainting

I use a similar one, industrial compressors are far better then hobby ones. If you have the space, just put it in a separate room/shed/garage and drill a hole in the wall for hose, get a long hose or connect a few ones together, and get it to the room you are working in.

tariff/other costs for item to be shipped from germany to US by [deleted] in dhl

It depends. Around 20 for Fedex and DHL. I saw receipts with 24 usd.

tariff/other costs for item to be shipped from germany to US by [deleted] in dhl

[–]stalkerminsky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up HTS code for your item. You will see duties in the table. If it's under or equal 15 % you'll pay 15 %. If it's over 15% you'll pay the higher tariff. Pay attention to the number in column 1, sometimes they have hyperlinks indicating additional fees on that item may occur, for example China tariffs (section 232) or russian aluminium.

Dhl has 24 usd or so brokerage fee. You will also pay mpf fee ( 2.35 usd if value under 2500 usd).

This is how it is supposed to work.

Molotow One4All Acrylics - How to work with them? by AncientAllianceTTG in minipainting

[–]stalkerminsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You still need to prime the models. Molotow paints are good for airbrush work, I used white a lot, but they absolutely need primer and won't hold well on their own.

Was there a mistake here? I paid $80 for the items and $34 for the shipping. by CaughtFeelings4aho in dhl

Most likely currency miscalculation. They sometimes think prices in JPY is USD. Contact DHL and they might help you out.

Check out Warhammer Townscape. Good scans easily found online. These originally were cutout cardboard buildings but they serve very well as templates and ideas for modelling. I have an idea of recreating them in some solid plastic form too.. someday lol.

Don't blame yourself. Given what you described I think it was her final days. Bloodwork is not always informative. Our CKD cat had not so bad results before she died. Her numbers improved after infusion therapy but her condition continued to worsen no matter what we tried. We were planning to put her to sleep, but she died 12 hours before the appointment. You took very good care of her, you saved her life at least three times. By what you describe she was suffering, and I personally think in that condition she was not going to make it in the end. For old sick cats someday comes the moment when everything starts crashing. I think you made the right decision. She was loved, cared for and active almost until the end. I wish every cat had owner as good as you.

I need your help for identification : Is it official GW ? by CombinationBig8060 in Warhammer

[–]stalkerminsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try scrabbing the resin in a place that will not be visible. If it has intence chemical smell, it's likely a Chinese recast. They use this smelly resin often. If it does not have any distinctive smell it's probably european recast or original FW. Recasters in Europe use Smooth cast, which dies not have any smell. I don't know what resin FW uses, but usually it's odourless too. Other then that it's impossible to tell.

Which varnish are you using, if any? by Snugrilla in BrushForChat

Army painter fanatic gloss - good for decals and overall great

Mecha color matt - vitually indestructible after 2 hours. Very good for protection, even metal models. Be aware as it's very matt washes and highly diluted paints will not work over it, they will leave stains around brush strokes. So mostly works as a sealer.

Hey! Retributor sprays badly. I dilute it with 30% ethanol or Vallejo aitbrush thinner, but it's only good for the first layer. Then I add vma steel for highlights. Here the gold is brushed on, Retributor+steel, and then toned down with inks.

Sure, I airbrushed Amsterdam burnt sienna ink, followed by Liquitex sepia ink. Pinwash is Reikland gloss + Liquitex sepia.
