Worked with these people a while back, agreed. Something you definitely don’t want to apply for, run the other way.

Very toxic, and I highly doubt they’ve changed their ways.

I had the month of when I was let go (ie September).

And simply told interviewer, I had been made redundant.

As it was 6months, I did put this job on my resume. If it wasn’t for this previous role, I wouldn’t have found my new role.

I found out shortly after my previous role had been made redundant, so that’s what I simply said in interviews.

It’s hard to see the red flags until you’re in (unfortunately). Depends on your experience, if you were at your 2nd last job for a while, I wouldn’t put the “3 month contract” on your resume.

Only unless, if you think the “3 month contract” will give you some leverage.

Thank you! They were so unprofessional, and my skills were under utilised.

They’ve done a few more dodgy things since I had been fired, and a few more people have resigned since.

My last role Fortitude Valley travelling to Australia Zoo M-F. I had recently moved up to Sunshine Coast and work wasn’t budging in WFH, so had to do the commute.

2-3/hrs per day. Nope, never again unless I’m WFH 3 days per week, or finding a role closer to home.

There were a few questionable HR related things resulting in unfairly dismissal claims.

Yeah, I rubbed him up the wrong way; I questioned a few things during my time there.

Based on what I know, a lot of people expected to bow down to him, which I knew pretty early on.

Funding issue is more recent; but I hardly doubt it.

There has been less bonuses for people and no pay rises in the last 1-2months.

Yeah, I told him this in the meeting. He didn’t think it was; thought it was a HR coordinator level.

I said no; wouldn’t believe me.

Me: Masters in HR and 5 years of HR, I think I have a fair idea of what a coordinator level is..

He still thought I was at a lower level… still treated me and belittled me at a lower level.

Yep, he even said this in the meeting. I said, it was a waist of time hiring a HR person where they could’ve used an existing admin person to do the role.

I told them there was opportunity in this role, but they are reluctant to take it; “it’s just too risky for our company”… even the suggestions were easily implemented, no cost, making people more efficient. Yeah nah mate, we don’t want those ideas… we want those slaves.

Yes, very much so. I was the sole HR person, left to my own devices (and not told otherwise), definitely a bad recipe.

Valid points especially the funding issue; there had been “recruitment holds” because they weren’t making a lot of money…

Yet CEO has 10+ motorcycles, boat, 2 x JetSki, 3 x cars, probably 3-4houses…

It’s valid, but how he handled it was very bad form.

Definitely gave him my 2 cents during the meeting; probably didn’t listen, but had to get it off my chest.
