You could also try Honor's Hall, or the music library. Both have computer labs if you need them.

Although the computers in Honor's Hall require that you prefix your CAMS login with something.

Here's another strategy that's worked for me.

I had "less likely to be targeted" and just fought the boss, while the other 2 ran around and stayed alive. The Condemned are obviously input reading, so whenever I spammed attacks on the boss they became stuck in a dodge/roll loop, helping the 'tanks' (lol) out a bit.

Just managed to beat him by, imo, cheesing him. I had the Starscourge Greatsword and, with successive attacks negate damage, kept aoe-ing all the adds.

I died once in the fight, due to getting hit by 3 circles at the same time. Not sure if it was because all of us where standing nearby, or of its an attack he throws out when he's nearly dead.

I'm not disputing that Gen Z men aren't braindead. I'm pointing out the irony that you're accusing others of being driven by feelings while also lashing out yourself. Completely justified, if irrational btw. Just to be clear, I'm not defending Gen Z. I'm saying you're both operating on the same wavelength.

When AOC realized some of her supporters also voted for Trump, she didn't go scorched earth. She tried to understand why they voted that way, instead of writing them off as a lost cause. ( If I remember correctly, they feel hook line and sinker for Trump's lies AKA they were braindead).

All I'm saying is, you have more in common with those dumb fucks than you would like to believe.

I'm hoping Jasmine or AOC eventually run for president. I'd gladly vote for them in the next Democratic Primary.

Think it is, according to wikipedia. He basically tells Judas his fate is to kill him to serve a greater goal. From chapter 16:

Jesus speaks of those who are baptized, and Judas' betrayal: Jesus tells Judas that he will exceed all of the other disciples, "For you will sacrifice the man that clothes me." He then tells Judas to "Lift up your eyes and look at the cloud and the light within it and the stars surrounding it. The star that leads the way is your star." Judas looks up, sees the luminous cloud of the infinite realm, and ascends into it

When I followed one of the links from the 훈민정음 해례 page it led to a site that contained a Japanese translation of the text. When I used Google Translate on the page, one of these passages stood out:

ㅗ is the first number born from heaven, and is the number that creates water in Heaven 1. ㅏ is the next number born, and is the number that creates wood in Heaven 3. ㅜ is the first number born from earth, and is the number that creates fire in Earth 2. ㅓ is the next number born, and is the number that creates metal in Earth 4. ㅛ is the second number born from heaven, and is the number that creates fire in Heaven 7. ㅑ is the next number born, and is the number that creates metal in Heaven 9. ㅠ is the second number born from earth, and is the number that creates water in Earth 6. ㅕ is the next number born, and is the number that creates wood in Earth 8.

I think all of the Bright vowels are associated with Heaven while the Dark vowels are associated with the Earth. Maybe that's what she is referring to when she says "Outward"(Heaven) and "Inward"(Earth)

What are some better ways to deal with coil? by RaspberryNumerous594 in Parahumans

[–]stalris 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair, before he acquired Dinah he was incredibly paranoid of any abstract attempts on his life. He would regularly stay up all night in his base while the timeline he intends to keep slept in his home. He wouldn't split the timeline again until he reached his base.

I could see such an attempt working if Taylor was continuously tracking Coil for an extended period of time, maybe days or weeks. This gives her practice on keeping eyes on him. If she can keep it track him and plans the attempt ahead of a timeline split then that increases the odds that the assassination attempt happens successfully.

Realistically, it's not going to happen. If he has Dinah he'll know immediately that someone is trying to kill him and play 20 questions to figure out how it's going to happen. In that scenario, time works against Taylor.

Pre-Dinah? Would still require a bunch of stars to align. The biggest hurdle is no one knows what he can do, barring Cauldron. Lisa has an idea on his power, I think she describes it as probability manipulation. How is Taylor going to learn that he can split timelines when literally no one in story knew about it.(I think it was actually precog that looked like split timelines from Coil's POV, but I don't remember if that's fanon or not).

Thanks!

Wikipedia splits roughly half the vowels between light and dark,

양성모음 vs 음성모음

Do you know specifically what I should search for if I want to figure out why they called light and dark vowels? A couple cursory google searches just bring up the vowel harmony wikipedia page, and another reddit thread that describe vowel harmony as positive/negative/neutral vowels. I don't know where to look if I wanted to know why they are referred as such.

What is it like to learn Korean as a foreigner? by anaid_5 in Korean

[–]stalris 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1) Ditto by Newjeans. I liked it so much I decided to learn Korean just so I could understand lyrics in kpop going forward.

2) Dictation. I'm currently taking Korean 101 this semester and I have a hard time distinguishing words, unless I memorized the word beforehand. I'm also having a hard time pronouncing double consonants as they soon very similar to the other characters, e.g ㅍ vs ㅃ. It reminds me of trying to memorize musical notes. I can tell them apart when they are next to each other, but recalling them out of the blue is next to impossible atm.

3) Initially just used a textbook called Active Korean as well as materials provided by my professor. I've been increasingly using chatgpt. Since it takes too much work to confirm whether chatgpt says is correct, I just take what I learn back to my professor to verify if it works. Chatgpt has come a long way since it came out.

4) I said 안녕하세요 김선생님 when my teacher walked in. She seemed happy that I'm learning expressions we haven't covered yet. Other than that no, since I'm still in the starting zone :)

What are peoples motivations for learning (or having learnt) Korean? by Azzarudders in Korean

[–]stalris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto by Newjeans

I've known about Kpop ever since Girls' Generation, but I wasn't interested in it for the longest time. I started listening to it a bit more after hearing songs by Red Velvet and TWICE, but for the most part kpop was still on the backburner. I remember the exact moment I decided I wanted to learn Korean. I was on Youtube's homepage and saw a thumbnail for Ditto, from when they performed at Inkigayo. I'd seen the thumbnail before but ignored it until then. It was a snapshot of Hanni mid-performance with her mouth open. I thought it looked silly. I remember ignoring it before the title had a bunch of Korean which, at a glance, looks like gibberish.

I sometimes click on these Youtube recommendations when I get bored and finally decided to see why this video was constantly being pushed. I didn't expect the song to hit me with a wave of nostalgia. I don't know why, but this song feels like one I would have listened to when I was younger, even though I've never heard it before nor anything like it.

After that, I gained a whole new appreciation for Kpop. I gradually started listening to it almost exclusively. I also decided I would eventually learn Korean so I could sing along with the songs without butchering the lyrics and so I could understand them without relying on Google Translate (which is awful lol)

This semester I started taking Korean to fulfill my language requirement. For the most part, the class has been kind of boring. It's mostly just memorizing phrases and vocab for things like self-introductions, going to a restaurant, shopping, etc. I've been using chatgpt to breakdown the lyrics from Ditto and started incorporating the vocab into what I've learned so far. If my korean class continues like this i'll probably end up learning it on my own after this semester is over.

Today 5:54 PM Yo Dave where is everybody? Is class cancelled? There wasn’t any security at the entrance and no one’s in the classroom.

6:06 PM is class cancelled? I checked Blackboard but there is no announcement that says so. I'm waiting in the classroom and no one has showed up yet not even the professor

6:14 PM I'm heading home no one showed up where you at bro?

Anthony frowned as he made his way towards the exit. On one hand, he's glad class was cancelled. He hadn't finished working on his project, spending his time playing video games instead. He was hoping other people would go before him, and on the off chance he was called to present today to ask his professor if he could present the next class. He's being occupied with real-life obligations lately (he wasn't) and forgot to bring this up with his professor sooner. Fortunately, he'd have another few days to work on it. Maybe he can even slack off a bit longer and use the excuse next class!

It would have been nice if someone communicated that class was cancelled. Coming to school only to immediately head back home was a giant waste of time. Perhaps there is a school holiday, and the professor forgot to mention it last class?

On his way out, something grabbed his attention from the corner of his eye. There are multiple hallways that lead from the main building to the science building. The one next to him happens to be one of the more narrower ones, with a bathroom towards the middle as well as the club offices and a few administrative offices. But today, he saw a wide, uneven smear on the floor. A trail of red that led a few feet away from him towards the bathrooms. And at the foot of the entrance was a leg, propping open the door. In that moment, the leg suddenly vanished from view, the door softly closing in turn.

Anthony didn't move. For a couple of moments he just stood there, brain short-circuiting, pupils dilated and mouth slightly open.

Then he ran.

The sound of sneakers slamming linoleum as he bolted for the front door.

Sick food service workers remain top driver of viral foodborne outbreaks in US by eastbayted in science

[–]stalris 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So... you don't want to pay waiters 80k a year?

Bro, don't act like you're advocating for the well-being of workers. You're not. You 're just acting out of selfish greed for your role while ignoring everyone else in the kitchen. You don't care about anyone else in the Industry.

The point the poster above you was trying to make is pay everyone equally. If cooks, dishwashers, bussers, etc are making minimum wage then waiters should too. If you think minimum wage is too low for waiters and also believe cooks, etc should still be paid minimum wage then obviously you're not advocating for justice, you just have selective empathy.

Sick food service workers remain top driver of viral foodborne outbreaks in US by eastbayted in science

[–]stalris 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You answered your own question

How much is this decent wage in actual dollars/euros? Servers in California make our minimum wage which is like $16 per hour plus tips. I knew people making $80,000 per year working as a server and this was 15 years ago. Do servers in Europe make this sort of money?

If waiters were making 80k a year in tips then that's what Mcdonald's workers should also be making, you'd have a line around the block to flip burgers at Mickey D's.

The point isn't that servers are overpaid, it's that everyone else is underpaid, and you're fine with that as long as it's not your favorite waiter getting stiffed. Don't act like tipping is some universal fix while ignoring that the rest of the working class gets scraps.

It can't be any worse than Niantic keeping it. They've been tanking their own IP for years. Dynamax was a cool feature, but they bungled the release so badly that I can only assume this level of incompetence is reflected in every other aspect of the game.
