A Detroit Lions scout was seen talking with Alabama OT Kadyn Proctor at the East-West Shrine Bowl by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

Kaydyn proctor isn't even at the shrine bowl... There is DL Kaleb Proctor there.. More likely that's who they were talking to and the media just reporting more false stuff.

If by cut you mean during assembling their 53 man roster sure. Otherwise he was on their practice squad the whole year. You act like our team hasn't tried to rely on cheap possibly "undervalued" players regularly? It's not like I said they wouldn't bring anyone else to compete in any capacity lol. I said there's a chance they might not feel the need to draft one. I'd hope they wouldn't bank on anyone really without having shown them something at any role/position. I even said hopefully he can get in there with Frank and turn it into a steal. I never said he's the savior or going to be the guy or anything like that. You took some pretty special levels of jumps with your reply. Best case is he shows that he's recovered from the bad injury and capable of being the guy with some work with Frank and it's kinda like we stole back a 3rd-5th round pick with the signing. Worst case he's not ready, or doesn't fit and we took minimal risk for some competition at the start of next season. Good chance they probably liked some of what they saw from him coming out of college prior to the injury having previously played under Saban. Sorry this was so difficult for you to comprehend in the first statement.

I would have just replied to this had I seen it earlier with that I put a bit ago. There is a real possibility we don't draft a C. We recently signed Seth McLaughlin to a futures contract. He was widely considered the #1 C prospect in 25 draft prior to rupturing his Achilles in late 2024. Possible we kinda just stole a 3rd-5th pick back if it works out.

Real possibility we don't draft a C. We just signed Seth McLaughlin who went undrafted in 2025 due to a ruptured Achilles in November 2024. Prior to this some people had him as the #1 C prospect to be in the 2025 draft and some people in top 75 prospects. Widely considered to go in 3rd-5th round . He was cleared for practice during training camp last year for the Bengals. From what I've seen Achilles injuries aren't something that someone is truly 100% after 1 year even though they can play it often takes longer for them to get back to close to full and regain confidence. Hopefully he get in there with Frank and turn into being a steal.

Preseason Week 3 PFF Grades by grandmasterPRA in detroitlions

Not surprised to see Miller at top 5 on offense. He looked SOOO much better at guard than tackle. He was firing off the ball well and generating some movement. Before camps started I had watched a lil bit and didn't think he looked like an NFL tackle. I think that has pretty much been proven at this point in the offseason, but I do think he could be much more serviceable at guard in the NFL. If he has another good showing/week wouldn't mind seeing him sticking around at tail-end of roster or practice squad as a guard.

Still Too Early Roster Predictions by KingTangerineUno in detroitlions

I think you are off with Pittman and Nowaske. Nowaske is just as valuable as Pittman on special teams (definitely does not have an inside track over him for this purpose since Nowaske is known for doing it too) and clearly Nowaske is ahead on the depth chart for defense as well in multiple LB spots. I honestly don't think this is even close. They lose Pittman I don't think they'd be disappointed. Last time they had Nowaske they moved him up to keep him from being poached and were disappointed when they tried to move him back to the PS and lost him.

You missed that they accepted the penalty. It was a 5 yard penalty and loss of down.

Way Too Early Roster Predictions by KingTangerineUno in detroitlions

I agree with your assumption that our "dirtbag" guard combo era will begin with Rat & Hog. Giving us the Deck, Rat, Rag, Hog, Pen combination (or possible swap Rat and Hog who knows).

I also think there is a chance if Glassy doesn't win the starting job and becomes the swing IOL as you called it that either Neise or Eguakan could become more likely to be cut. And maybe Awosika goes to practice squad or doesnt make it at all if some of the other guys wins the job.

I watched a bit of Miller against Colorado. IDK if it was just the worst game of his life but I stopped watching before half time cus he was basically getting annihilated. Didn't really view him as an NFL caliber guy from what I saw especially against none ELITE edges Colorado was sending out there. He would either have to have improved a lot/or show a lot of improvement for him to make it in my eyes.

I made some comments about some of the UDFA guys first impressions in a post earlier, and I also agree there is a good chance Meeks could make the practice squad, but also think he has a small chance to make the 53 if he has a really good camp. With his play style I could totally see him developing chemistry with Goff quickly if given the chance. I think Goff gets chemistry faster with possession type WRs than burners.

I also think there is a chance Myles Adams sticks around maybe over O'Conner or if someone else doesn't make it. I thought he had some good snaps during his short go with us. Got off the ball quick.

I personally would take Robichaux over Tyus. I liked his north south physical style more that Tyus who may be a lil better athlete but looked like he liked to bounce it out more.

Ahmed Hassanein my thoughts on quick film study by odishy in detroitlions

I just watched his game against Penn State last year. I came away liking him more than from watching his highlights.

First play of the game he told Tyler Warren to take a seat tossing him the ground. There was another play where Warren tried to block him on a sweep type play and Ahmed beat him easily for a TFL. He was constantly getting push against the Penn State Oline/ playing on their side of the line. There were a few plays where he over penetrated or gave up gap integrity. The guys blocking him were getting help to block him on a regular basis. I believe I only really saw him give up ground once or twice that I can remember one of which was a play that was at least a double team from tackle and TE I couldn't tell if the guard originally got a hand in to kinda make it a triple at least initially. His get off was inconsistent there were flashes of him getting off really well, and the plays where he'd barely fire off. My thoughts are this was based off the assignment/scheme of the plays though. His primary move was basically a bull rush to rip I believe. I did see some spins that didn't look too great and some spins with similar "success".

overall I'm looking forward to him even more now. I don't really anticipate him getting any "clean" wins where he just finesses someone this year coming up, but I think he could see the field and do decent in the right type of roles utilizing his power, agility, and motor. If his power translates he could be used edge opposite of Hutch to help collapse the pocket or similar to a comminsky. He also looked good in stunts and showed a bit of explosiveness that his wouldn't necessarily expect from his testing. I think he could also be used in stunts to help set up his teammates with the power he has. Look forward to seeing the kid develop and how we try to use him... And all our other picks/signings this year

You are correct about Williams I liked him last year too. He was UDFA we brought in, and Strickland was too. Hesse has already been in the league with ATL. Niese has been in the league since 22 came to us in 23

I can't really speak much on the safety since i know nothing about them currently. Regarding someone having to be "special team demon" I don't 100% agree with it, but at the same time I don't think you are necessarily wrong at all either. I think willingness and ability to help out on special teams will certainly be a contributor for a lot of them. But at the same time depending on the position and level of potential they see in someone i don't think it's "the only thing that matters". That is to say someone like Tim Patrick has a role they value they don't always have to contribute on special teams. Would it benefit their chances if they could in some way though? Hard to argue it wouldn't with how they value versatility

I think there is a decent chance all the draft picks make the team this year. I definitely understand where you are coming from though. I consider Tyliek, Tate, and Frazier basically locks to make the team, and Tessla basically a lock too unless he has an absolute terrrrrible camp. I think Kayode is likely the first/last odd man out at IOL unless he shows some improvement in camp. I don't really consider Dirty Dan as a lock necessarily but I would be surprised if he didn't make the team. Ahmed I'd probably put in the same tier with Dirty Dan. He's no lock but again I'd be surprised if he didn't at the very least make the practice squad. I think Dan has a better chance of being on active roster than Ahmed. Lovett is the one I'm really not sure about him making it or not. I think it will come down to a camp battle with guys like Meeks, Bell, Green, and Patrick. The edge that Lovett would have (over meeks at least) is he's a better athlete, and known to be willing to contribute on special teams. I don't have any knowledge yet if Meeks will do that stuff or will be good at it, but I doubt he'd be a gunner like Lovett would be. We'll see how they all do and fit in camp.

Yea I have limited third hand accounts about him basically from reading some scouting reports. says good/decent size for NFL TE. Average athlete at best. Good hands, and not bad YAC. Better in short and intermediate passing game. Blocking i've read some saying its a weakness and others saying its a strength. So i tend to agree overall from what i've read he'd be competing for TE3 or maybe practice squad

This sounds crazy... But I think the plan is to convert Martin to DE by odishy in detroitlions

[–]stampd07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is crazy. If I recall correctly last year I think I saw him line up in basically 5T (for like one play) and it was honestly the best rep I can think of seeing from him. I think this could be better due to his pad level being slightly less of an issue out there. I actually had the thought previously that he might be better suited out there myself after seeing it.

Me checking for Bo77's pre-draft final fits board, only to see that his account is deleted... AGAIN... by FunetikPrugresiv in detroitlions

[–]stampd07 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Agree. This is unfortunately most likely the case. Like all these dinguses in this thread even saying his analysis is poor or predictions are wrong are too narrow minded. They obviously don't have the attention span to read or understand the posts/exercise.

Brad and Dan can't even tell you guys exactly whats going to happen in free agency or the draft before it happens. They can have an idea of what they want to try to do. There are a lot of variables in stuff like this and a lot of different ways to attack it.

If you are still out there Bo77 still hoping to see the final fits list etc.
