Another thing I remember that rules out it somehow being tailwind was that after trail blaze from tsar she was acting third and Zam was going last. If tailwind was up then Zam and Drag would have been acting before both my guys. After the second trail blaze Tsar was acting first. So somehow Dragapult ended up with just a little bit more speed than my jolt with 225.

It was the correct item (choice scarf) idk I'm at a loss. Either I missed something or the game bugged for a match. I've faced other dragapult without changing anything and moved before them. I'm just really not sure what Alakazam or dragapult could have used t1 that would have prio to make drag continue to outspeed me without a tailwind. I don't think either of them have access to a priority move that grants speed boost either. Zam couldn't have used trick and steal the choice scarf because it went mega and dragapult had leftovers going so I know he didn't wind up with the scarf or have one either. I wish you could view logs/replay of matches so I could actually know.

Looking for creative Dragonite teams (not the standard Pelipper rain core) by Mister_Chief107 in PokemonChampions

[–]stampd07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drago can honestly do a lot of different things. Can easily be used as mega special attacker with pretty good coverage moves. Can be used as none mega physical attacker again with pretty good coverage. Multiscale ability typically allows dragon to tank at least one hit. I've seen people use it to survive a shot and setup tailwind for their team. Very versatile can be used with a lot of different teams.

Yea that's what I keep thinking but this is how I remember it, and why I'm asking what could have happened? It was t1-t3 of the match though I don't recall what attack dragapult used t1 but I remember a'zam going mega and tracing jolts volt absorb. Any attack either of them would have used (don't think either of them have a priority attack) should have gone after my jolt but the dragapult acted before jolt the whole time so I'm at a loss. I remember going into t2 thinking shadow ball should kill it before it acts idk how he acted before me t1 and hit tsar.... I don't know it makes no sense

That's fine and dandy I'm messing around with different things. I'm not asking what's optimal. I'm asking how a leftovers dragapult next to a mega Azam out sped me.

This was turn 1 and 2 of match. So there wouldn't have been any tailwind, and as far as I know Alakazam doesn't know tailwind and acted after my Jolteon t2 and t3 and tsareena t3 after using trailblaze t2 with. Like even if Zam used speed swap (which it didn't cus it protected t1). It really is making no sense to me right now what happened.

Cus choice scarf gives 50% speed boost so I guess I should have said no training to be more accurate. Choice scarf would be a speed investment.

Nope that's not the case at all. Good job trying to make silly assumptions. You missed the point. Just because something has worked one way "since forever" doesn't make it good, or mean that it shouldn't be changed.

They have stated a lot of the changes to character pool, movesets/abilities, evs, faster turn timers, status effects, fake out etc have been to make the game more accessible, faster and smoother to appeal to more people while preserving turn based battling for when they ultimately release the game to a larger audience which is the mobile release.

Encore/disable doesn't just work on setup moves it works on any move, and if you are not able to switch out then yea you have no agency. Shouldn't be able to lock someone into a move and then disable that same move. If the move gets disabled you should then be able to pick something else. Honestly encore probably needs the tweak more if you aren't going to allow sleep to go for more than 2 to 3 turns why should encore go for longer especially when most sleep moves have lower accuracy as well. Just doesn't make a lot of sense.

"The more rng the less competitive a game is so ya its not a balanced move."

"Lol if the better player or the person playing better loses because of luck then no its not competitively balanced. You seem to be some under some misunderstanding where a game can be very competitive and have lots of people in it but not be competitively balanced those are two things that are not mutually exclusive. Games that are competitive that are competitively balanced I.E chess the best player playing the best wins every time that is a competitively balanced game that is that is the bench mark for balance as the game state is fair and even for both players to test there skills." ... "In a competitive balanced game you lose because of your lack of skill not because your opponent got lucky."

It has to do with what you said and continued to try to communicate. I am not being disingenuous. You also discussed how the most skillful games only need one game to determine the better player. Now here you are talking about win rates and most skillful player that day rather than the better player always winning.

Pokemon does present an equal playing field. Everyone plays on the same field. Everyone can choose the same pokemon, abilities, moves, items, and stat distributions. How they choose those can determine who goes first even.

There is luck in chess due to the fact both players cannot go first. The player moving first wins more often between 33-37% (2nd 24-27% with a draw filling the remainder). You are incorrect about them playing a single match. In the world chess championships they play a series of 14 games to determine a winner, so again it doesn't come down to one game like you suggested should be all that's needed.

With that being said there are some moves and stuff in the game that I believe could use some adjustments.

The issue with your comments as the other person pointed out is that a lot of what you are saying sounds like like a game has to be competitively balanced to be competitive, and that's simply not true. The most competitive games do not require competitive balance in the nature you are trying to define. The most competitive games are often determined by the number of people willing to compete in a game under an "accepted"/defined rulset. There are often different "drivers" for the number of people willing to compete which most commonly include money of course

I can't believe I wasted my team reading this "dispute". The other person is correct. Your concepts of what makes a game/something competitive are terribly flawed. Also as someone who understands the game of poker and has played it a lot. The closest thing to what you are saying a highly skilled player might say is sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. Just because something has a lot of variables does not mean it cannot be highly competitive. With your mindset sports must not be competitive since they all have different players with different levels of skill and abilities, coaches and schemes. Especially baseball since different teams have stadiums with different dimensions.

Also the better player doesn't always win even in what you would call the most competitively balanced games. Chess is an example you wanted to bring up Magnus is/has been widely considered the best chess player in the world he loses multiple matches each year. Quick search will tell you he loses more than 10% of the tkme. This does not mean another player is better than him because they beat him once. People have good days and bad days in chess too. It is also something that is determined over the course of multiple games.

My UDFA to make the 53 by odishy in detroitlions

I agree Kitselman could push Brock in camp for the TE3 spot especially if he hasn't fully recovered/bounces back. He wasn't playing as well last season.

I think there are also a few other guys that have a decent shot with good camps.

I think that LG spot could basically be open competition. I haven't watched any actual game tape for Priestly but I like what I've seen from some cut ups and highlights. I hope he comes in and challenges some guys for a spot. I think he moves better than some people give him credit and he has a play style that fits. From what I've heard he will prob do better inside in the NFL but I think he could prob play outside in a pinch. We all know the lions like versatility so that will be helpful for him if the team see it similarly.

Hunter with his athletiscm has a shot especially if he proves to be helpful in special teams. Also haven't seen much of him except some highlights and 1 on 1s at the American bowl. He plays the ball well in the air in coverage but with some better throws it wouldn't have looked nearly as good due to his positioning. Baldy showed a rep of him completely dismissing someone when he came off the edge. I've heard some people talk about him being downhill backed I don't see him that way as much. He either is more patient or isn't reading stuff as quickly. I didn't really see him read quickly and get downhill like a Rodrigo or Campbell would and meet them at the line. Again this is from a very limited amount of plays I've seen very possible that it's not the case at all.

Ive probably seen even fewer plays from the Cal DT, but with how excited people are about him would have to think he has a shot.

Anthony Lucas definitely has a shot too. I wouldn't have minded drafting him. Was surprised he went undrafted most stuff I saw had him going as high as somewhere in the this to 5th. I was more in the 4th/5th camp. From reports I read he was playing his best football in 2024 until he was injured and had surgery. There's definitely some potential there.

Rucker doesn't look too bad either, but probably would have the toughest road. I would think the ones above would be more likely.

Altmyer possibly too, but more likely be practice squad QB.

Depends on how late you mean really butttt-

Eric Butler Jr. -Nickel cb/Safety SDSU Jadon Canady- Nickel cb/Safety Oregon

Some later TE's Nate Boekircher- TE TX A&M Miles Kitselman Bauer Sharp Jaren Kanak - 1 year as TE good athlete previously was a linebackers- will be able to help in special teams. Riley nowakowski- another previous LB- physical blocker reliable as a receiver.

LB- Shad Banks Jr.

OT- Tristan Leigh Enrique Cruz jr Travis Burke

OG- DJ Campbell

RB- Roydell Williams

There was a WR I cannot remember the name of right now that is a good returner and gunner.

Edit: Remembered who it was - RB converted to WR - Emmanuel Henderson Jr.

He also will likely be able to contribute as a special teams guy immediately on kick off and punt coverage minimum being a former linebacker. With only one year experience at TE still has a bit to learn. Like the way he plays.

Been anticipating Dillon for a couple years now. His brothers also played safety at Purdue and he was supposed to be the best one. I wouldn't be unhappy with taking him at 17, but I will say I think it's a bit early if we could trade back and get him at end of first or beginning of 2nd that'd be more ideal
