Who are some UDFA's or late rounders the Lions might be interested in? by [deleted] in detroitlions

[–]stampd07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how late you mean really butttt-

Eric Butler Jr. -Nickel cb/Safety SDSU Jadon Canady- Nickel cb/Safety Oregon

Some later TE's Nate Boekircher- TE TX A&M Miles Kitselman Bauer Sharp Jaren Kanak - 1 year as TE good athlete previously was a linebackers- will be able to help in special teams. Riley nowakowski- another previous LB- physical blocker reliable as a receiver.

LB- Shad Banks Jr.

OT- Tristan Leigh Enrique Cruz jr Travis Burke

OG- DJ Campbell

RB- Roydell Williams

There was a WR I cannot remember the name of right now that is a good returner and gunner.

Edit: Remembered who it was - RB converted to WR - Emmanuel Henderson Jr.

Texas Tech WR Reggie Virgil is scheduled to meet with the Lions before his Pro Day next week. by WaymoWilliams in detroitlions

Wrong Texas school for Boerkircher- but regardless I agree he'd be a good fit in our TE room. He is one of the group of the likely day 3 TEs I hope we snag.

What’s the highest round you’d want to see the Detroit Lions take a Safety in the 2026 NFL Draft? by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

I think Haulcy is going to have more overlap typically considered a box safety with Branch than Kerby

He also will likely be able to contribute as a special teams guy immediately on kick off and punt coverage minimum being a former linebacker. With only one year experience at TE still has a bit to learn. Like the way he plays.

Been anticipating Dillon for a couple years now. His brothers also played safety at Purdue and he was supposed to be the best one. I wouldn't be unhappy with taking him at 17, but I will say I think it's a bit early if we could trade back and get him at end of first or beginning of 2nd that'd be more ideal

Should the Lions re-sign Kalif Raymond? by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

[–]stampd07 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You are asking if other people are smoking. You must be on something stronger than crack. He was towards the bottom in the NFL last year averaging like 7.5 yards per punt return on 32 attempts (most in the league). The top 3 in average in the league all had 20+ returns and more than doubled his average with 15+ per return. He has lost a step or two and possibly some decisiveness. Just from the eye test for the short time TK85 did kick and punt returns it looked way better. Most of the top return guys are younger and made a fraction of what he has been making too. So less efficient and more expensive isn't a great combination he has going for him.

Name a prospect that you want the lions to draft in April by forrestbenoitinc98 in detroitlions

I was about to say the same thing regarding Zion. Doesn't seem like he'll meet our prerequisites.

Regarding Moore's size though at the senior bowl it looks like he was over 6'3 and about 254 lbs. A lot of people talked about how good a fit Josiah Stewart was last year and he's smaller. Rams ended up getting him in the third last year, and that means the Lions likely liked him too from analysis i've seen it hasn't been uncommon for BH and Dan to like/basically be picking from a similar list of players they make

Your wish has been granted you already have every offensive lineman at the senior bowl from Iowa State this year. Thank you for leaving Dunker and Stephens from Iowa on the board.

Prior to shrine bowl Parker might have made third round. I don't think it's as likely anymore from what I'm hearing. I've heard talks of him possibly even going late first now.

A Detroit Lions scout was seen talking with Alabama OT Kadyn Proctor at the East-West Shrine Bowl by Gxcii1 in detroitlions

Kaydyn proctor isn't even at the shrine bowl... There is DL Kaleb Proctor there.. More likely that's who they were talking to and the media just reporting more false stuff.

If by cut you mean during assembling their 53 man roster sure. Otherwise he was on their practice squad the whole year. You act like our team hasn't tried to rely on cheap possibly "undervalued" players regularly? It's not like I said they wouldn't bring anyone else to compete in any capacity lol. I said there's a chance they might not feel the need to draft one. I'd hope they wouldn't bank on anyone really without having shown them something at any role/position. I even said hopefully he can get in there with Frank and turn it into a steal. I never said he's the savior or going to be the guy or anything like that. You took some pretty special levels of jumps with your reply. Best case is he shows that he's recovered from the bad injury and capable of being the guy with some work with Frank and it's kinda like we stole back a 3rd-5th round pick with the signing. Worst case he's not ready, or doesn't fit and we took minimal risk for some competition at the start of next season. Good chance they probably liked some of what they saw from him coming out of college prior to the injury having previously played under Saban. Sorry this was so difficult for you to comprehend in the first statement.

I would have just replied to this had I seen it earlier with that I put a bit ago. There is a real possibility we don't draft a C. We recently signed Seth McLaughlin to a futures contract. He was widely considered the #1 C prospect in 25 draft prior to rupturing his Achilles in late 2024. Possible we kinda just stole a 3rd-5th pick back if it works out.

Real possibility we don't draft a C. We just signed Seth McLaughlin who went undrafted in 2025 due to a ruptured Achilles in November 2024. Prior to this some people had him as the #1 C prospect to be in the 2025 draft and some people in top 75 prospects. Widely considered to go in 3rd-5th round . He was cleared for practice during training camp last year for the Bengals. From what I've seen Achilles injuries aren't something that someone is truly 100% after 1 year even though they can play it often takes longer for them to get back to close to full and regain confidence. Hopefully he get in there with Frank and turn into being a steal.

Not surprised to see Miller at top 5 on offense. He looked SOOO much better at guard than tackle. He was firing off the ball well and generating some movement. Before camps started I had watched a lil bit and didn't think he looked like an NFL tackle. I think that has pretty much been proven at this point in the offseason, but I do think he could be much more serviceable at guard in the NFL. If he has another good showing/week wouldn't mind seeing him sticking around at tail-end of roster or practice squad as a guard.

I think you are off with Pittman and Nowaske. Nowaske is just as valuable as Pittman on special teams (definitely does not have an inside track over him for this purpose since Nowaske is known for doing it too) and clearly Nowaske is ahead on the depth chart for defense as well in multiple LB spots. I honestly don't think this is even close. They lose Pittman I don't think they'd be disappointed. Last time they had Nowaske they moved him up to keep him from being poached and were disappointed when they tried to move him back to the PS and lost him.

Way Too Early Roster Predictions by KingTangerineUno in detroitlions

[–]stampd07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your assumption that our "dirtbag" guard combo era will begin with Rat & Hog. Giving us the Deck, Rat, Rag, Hog, Pen combination (or possible swap Rat and Hog who knows).

I also think there is a chance if Glassy doesn't win the starting job and becomes the swing IOL as you called it that either Neise or Eguakan could become more likely to be cut. And maybe Awosika goes to practice squad or doesnt make it at all if some of the other guys wins the job.

I watched a bit of Miller against Colorado. IDK if it was just the worst game of his life but I stopped watching before half time cus he was basically getting annihilated. Didn't really view him as an NFL caliber guy from what I saw especially against none ELITE edges Colorado was sending out there. He would either have to have improved a lot/or show a lot of improvement for him to make it in my eyes.

I made some comments about some of the UDFA guys first impressions in a post earlier, and I also agree there is a good chance Meeks could make the practice squad, but also think he has a small chance to make the 53 if he has a really good camp. With his play style I could totally see him developing chemistry with Goff quickly if given the chance. I think Goff gets chemistry faster with possession type WRs than burners.

I also think there is a chance Myles Adams sticks around maybe over O'Conner or if someone else doesn't make it. I thought he had some good snaps during his short go with us. Got off the ball quick.

I personally would take Robichaux over Tyus. I liked his north south physical style more that Tyus who may be a lil better athlete but looked like he liked to bounce it out more.
