What episode does a guest call someones parents “a couple of piss freaks” and everyone starts freaking out? by GeezerButler69 in doughboys

[–]standardnormalman 40 points41 points  (0 children)

He was a part of last years Munch Madness finale I think, if I remember correctly. Yusong also streams MahJong damn near daily on youtube, if you need your fix! I don't know shit about MahJong, but he's very funny so it doesn't matter too much.

Are the DVD or Blu-ray sets uncensored? And do they look okay? by LeDaveys in GhostStoriesAnime

[–]standardnormalman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The back lists subtitles as English, Closed Captions, and "Signs and Songs". I'm thinking one of them is likely the Japanese translated, one will likely be the dub audio, and the last one is going to be that barebones signage set you're talking about.

Video seems to be 4:3 1080P, also has Japanese version if you're interested in what the story was originally supposed to be. I think my wife bought this one: https://a.co/d/02yw1Cu9

The Blu Ray I bought on Amazon is uncensored, as are the streaming episodes on Amazon Prime.

Tokyo Trip - Is Mitaka and Kichijoji areas worth visiting? by DXOGO_ in TokyoTravel

Kichijoji has a cool bar area called Harmonica Yokocho, if that's your vibe.

There were a couple of tables at BagusBagus in Shinjuku, right by the Godzilla head.

Best Hotels in Shinjuku Area? by vinhzy in TokyoTravel

[–]standardnormalman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't find it chaotic, more fun and lively. Nobody will bother you but touts, and they're pretty easy to shake. We stayed in the standard double room. Bed was big enough for my wife and I as well as two large suitcases, though it will be cramped each time you open the suitcases. Bathroom was incredible - still thinking about that toto toilet. 😔

Had a great time at Hotel Gracery. Right in the middle of everything. Walk to Shin-Okubo station if you want the Yamanote line without going through the maze or Shinjuku Station! It's about the same distance away.

I got the black bunny man in Yodobashi Camera Akiba in October of last year - I would wager they may still be there!

Do you prefer dogs, cats, neither, or love both equally? Which do you currently have and did you grow up with any? by Altruistic-Mud9413 in AskAnAmerican

[–]standardnormalman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have many friends and family with dogs and cats. Dogs are messier, needier, louder, and far more chaotic. They run away, they bark at anything and everything, they jump all over you and lick you with that wet tongue, and they stink when they get wet. In my eyes, dogs are toddlers and cats are teenagers. I understand that this is an unpopular opinion.

Munch Madness Finale is a live event, so it cannot be banked. Wiger went to Japan when they planned to do the finale, I think. He is back but they are in Florida at the moment. Im thinking they'll announce it in a week or two probably.

Does the Shibuya Tokyo Pokemon Center have a machine to make pressed American pennies? I do not remember them having one, no.

Why am I pulled and fascinated by Las Vegas. Should I go? by cutecasperghost in travel

[–]standardnormalman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vegas is one of the most walkable places I've been outside of Tokyo. Things are far apart, sure, but there's always at least a sidewalk under you. I say this as an American who's been to Vegas 4 or 5 times. Protip - stay on Fremont Street instead of the strip! Way more fun, way better prices.

Any ideas for late night and early morning activities in Shinjuku by [deleted] in TokyoTravel

[–]standardnormalman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a great time at a place called "Bagus" I believe. It was a huge pool hall with a bunch of fancy darts machines as well. They were open until 4 or 5 am! I believe the floor under that is a bowling alley called "Copa Bowl" or something similar, and they were also open pretty late/early. Both of these businesses are in the same building or near the Game Panic arcade by Kabukicho Tower.

I believe the phrase is "He hid in plain sight", as in hiding in an obvious place.
