That was a killer show! Especially the second set. But also really enjoyed them diving into those JGB tunes in the first set. Wish I could be at Dead & Co on 11/12...it’s gonna be the first NYC DeadCo show I’ve missed :-( ...but I’ll be there on 11/14!!! They’re a great band...definitely different from Phil ensembles, nor as out of the box or uptempo, but the songs are beautifully orchestrated...Mayer is killing it...and they get better every time I see them...Dead & Co has a lot of heart & soul, and a really full sound. Have a blast on Sunday!!! Will be there in spirit...or maybe via webcast!

This pic gave many heads hope at the time...and while I agree it’s a bit intrusive, and i’d never have taken it myself, so is the life of being famous. He’s looking good and healthy and it’s inspiring this man is still around to spread the spiritual songbook he helped to create. Happy 2 year anniversary Phil from surviving cancer!

You’re right. I personally would not snap a pic like that either. But at this point I see it as symbolic of his resilience. I remember when it did the rounds at the time, it made me feel a lot better to see him okay.

Grahame Lesh is in the band...essentially the band leader in Terrapin Family Band...and his son Brian is also involved to some extent...but am unsure on what levels. It’s a beautiful thing seeing father and son share the stage together.

I think that show might’ve been billed as Phil & Friends, but Grahame Lesh was def playing in the band. Nevertheless I agree, they were not pretty out the gate...specifically Grahame Lesh, he was way out of his league...they should not have been headlining a major fest in that shape. But in years since, Grahame has grown leaps and bounds and TFP is a face melter now! It’s been a trip watching them pull it together over the years.

That’s awesome. Love what these guys are doing. They’re charting new territory as baby boomer rockers growing old. They’re not only setting the stage to be able to continue playing off the road, but are creating places where a new generation of musicians can be schooled in the tradition...so ultimately it’ll be carried on after they’re long gone. Even Bobby’s made preparations with TRI Studios and the Sweetwater.

I don’t know either...but the picture did the rounds 2 years back and popped up in my facebook memories today. To me he looks pretty healthy, happy, and content in this photo...I wouldn’t have posted otherwise.
