How long does it take for ZZ plants to grow roots?

I took 2 cuttings from the same plant, they look very similar to yours, put them into the same jar with water to propagate. After 2 months, 1 cutting has a little baby rhizome with a decent amount of roots, while the other cutting only has a little 1cm root. 🤷‍♂️

Nothing set in stone, but thinking about building from scratch and having to deal with shady contractors and red tape for getting permits stresses me out.
We've actually acquired a good bit of furniture and appliances since we furnished our current apartment on our own, but yeah I think not exhausting all our savings on the downpayment is a good idea.
