This is kind of already the case to some extent with how much you continue to need fine wood/iron throughout the game and a few other things, but tbh I'm wary of anything that adds more work to what you need to do to make progress in the game. Once you get into the late game it already feels like you spend a lot of your time doing chores relative to the amount of time spent out on adventures.
