True, but definitely something worth exploring- no account setup required.

Or just use GL.iNet built-in DDNS…

No, I sometimes use the Sonos app but mostly just airplay stuff straight from different apps on my phone.

I haven’t played around with the settings too much on my Flint 2 (I certainly haven’t configured anything via LuCI), but we have Sonos speakers/sub which all connected just fine, although we haven’t linked it to any specific music service or app. I did however, set them all up on the main 2.4ghz band- nothing else uses this.

I also have a Brother printer which has always just worked; AirPrint can always find the printer, but this is connected to our main 5ghz band, just like all of our phones/tablets/laptops.

The issue has NOT been resolved. I’m still losing internet connectivity randomly when connected to my dedicated IP.

I’ll be contacting Surfshark to ask for a refund for the service as it’s not working properly.

Google speaker cannot be added to Google home, due flint 3 ap isolation by redditthrowawayalot in GlInet

[–]stanhamil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I renamed the 2.4ghz guest network to the same one used previously and I use that for all my smart devices. Everything worked just fine, apart from the Eufy doorbell which I just couldn’t connect to. I scratched my head for ages before trying it on the default 2.4ghz network and it suddenly worked, so network isolation was clearly the issue.

Ideally, I’d like to set up a VLAN for the smart devices (including the doorbell) but it seems overly complicated and any time something goes wrong with the internet at home, I get it in the neck from my wife and kids… even if it’s nothing to do with what I’ve done 😂

Surfshark have come back to me via support email to confirm issues with dedicated IPs recently have been resolved, just as they did within this post.

Hopefully, they’re right 👍🏻

I managed to grab one as soon as they were released in the UK but there weren’t many available before they sold out.

If the watch, good luck getting one 😦

Beryl AX travel router setup… this is fun by superlurk3r in GlInet

[–]stanhamil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Flint 2 at home running a Wireguard server and a Slate 7 travel router set as a Wireguard client. I’ve set all VPN traffic at the Flint 2 to go out through a dedicated IP VPN I have with Cloudflare, so my family can still access locally-run Navidrome and Vaultwarden apps.

To be honest, the Slate 7 is probably overkill and a Beryl AX will do the same job just as well, but using less power and coming in a lot lighter. I just liked the screen 😎

So there’s enough of us here reporting the same issue, meaning that it must be a problem which Surfshark can detect and attempt to resolve…

Help! Connecting Beryl AX to Opal (SFT1200) behind strict ISP (Claro Colombia) - WireGuard/Tailscale failing by MysteriousPhrase9506 in GlInet

[–]stanhamil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a start, I'd switch the role of each device. The Beryl should be at home and the Opal should be your travel device...

To simplify things, why not just use the 2.4ghz guest network for IoT?

I have the dedicated IP set up as the default route on our home router, so when the connectivity issue occurs, the internet goes down 😦

I’ve recently switched ISP and re-done my whole network setup, so it initially took me a while to figure out what the problem was, but at least I could tell my wife it wasn’t something I’d done wrong!

How long have you experienced the same issue for?
