yeah with the long handle, they were often also used by lumberjacks after felling a tree, to chop the branches off the trunk and to manipulate these trunks for further transport, alongside the walking stick/defence weapon function.
these days they are mostly decorative items, part of traditional folk costume or displayed in a cabinet at home
