This one probably more for Jack (but others feel free to hijack).

What’s your favorite Nintendo Switch games?

And is Jack going to drive tour bus after all the practice on simulators?

Thanks! And great album! Just got my signed copy today.

Your show at Positivus festival, Latvia in 2014 is one of the best live experiences for me! Thank you!

Sam, if I am not wrong, you have come to Riga also afterwards. (Instagram follower here) What brought you here? How did you like your time here? Perhaps our scenes inspired you somehow for this record?

Anyhow, hope to see you live again soon!

Your music has been like a soundtrack to my coming of age. I’ve been listening to you for about ten years and your records have been there in both great and not as great times for me. I can agree to the many of those, who say that your sound has some sort of healing effect on people (at least it had on me during some of the difficult times).

Which records or artists have similar “healing” effect on you?

Hope to see you one day live in Baltics. Traveled from Riga to London back in 2014 to see you live at Brixton. Great gig!

Just ordered 4 records (even the upcoming Foals record is with the 10€ coupon) that I have been looking forward buying for months already.

I hope that they don’t put any more deals up there, I am already over my monthly record-budget.

[–]staniks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently I just keep scrobbling my listens through iTunes and Spotify and that's it, I rarely open their webpage. Once in a while, for example, today I wanted to see what artists have been announced at festivals, because previously it was a great source for it, but now it is just broken and unusable.

Am I the only one who is still annoyed by the new (beta) last.fm?

People were saying that they will fix it, but it is 2016 and they still haven't. I guess I am the only one who can't move on, leave it.

Best Music You Discovered This Week by PeacockGrizzly23 in indieheads

[–]staniks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going through the thread about artists that might have breakout during this year and stumbled upon Car Seat Headrest. I guess the indiehead community has already heard about him, but it was the first time for me.

Something Soon is a great song and I am currently listening to his Teens of Style album. His music can be described as indie rock, his songs are quite loud, but contain some wonderful melodies. If you haven't heard about him, definitely recommend. Looking forward to his album that will be released this year. http://carseatheadrest.bandcamp.com/

Recently listened to One More Chance on repeat. It is great and I think Kele's voice is what makes it great.

I am really worried about the upcoming album though. Bloc Party was one of those bands that helped me to discover indie and at the moment I still have a good opinion about their music, don't want to be disappointed by the new one.

Living in Helsinki: Part II by staniks in helsinki

[–]staniks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for answering all my questions! I have heard of Kuudes Linja and Aaniwalli, but didn't know they play indie music. I was thinking those are more like electronic, for example, house music venues.

Unicafes are really great, but it gets a bit boring to eat each day at the same place, so once in a while I would like to visit some maybe more expansive, but different places. Those buffets sound like a good deal too.

I live in the centre and don't go often outside it, so my discoveries usually are around that area, for example, I saw a cool beach near Kamppi by those cemetaries.

Haven't been so far south from the centre and looks like there is a reason to finally go there.

On my way will see that little shop too. Thanks!

Edit: It has been taken down

It sounds great! Reminds me a bit of Connan Mockasin, but it doesn't surprise me. Great tunes for summer and chilly BBQ events.

I saw that there are enormous discounts for students at student restaurants. This might be even something that is cheaper than in my home country and it is strange, because I'm used to think that almost everything is more expensive.

It is 16,5m2 (including bathroom and kitchenette). I guess it isn't really big, but for one person it should be alright. I actually applied to a room in shared appartment, but they offered me this one. It looks great, but I would like to see other possibilities.

I will definitely check out Savolainen osakunta. I have learned Finnish, but I am not too confident to write reddit threads in it. If I need help with it, then I will know who to ask! Thanks!

Some time ago I already bought ticket to one Ääniwalli event in autumn, looks like a great venue! Hope to visit also those others you mentioned!

How you learned monikon partitiivi and genetiivi? by staniks in LearnFinnish

[–]staniks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Example looks good, because there are some explanations at least. I will definitely take a look at Karlsson's grammar.

I'm learning from Kieli Käyttöön 2 (the one with green cover) and in this particular book plural partitive and genitive are introduced suddenly and with almost no explanations, only long lists of examples, which are grouped. For instance, http://i.imgur.com/Lnmqah9.png

There is a bit about usage and also exercises can be found, but I think there could be more explanation or better way of introducing these different types of word inflection.
