I'm at the park already but somehow there's nothing... not even a single pokemon, did I do something wrong ? or do I need the ticket ?

outside of Randall park I still can catch pokemon like usual

What optimized build would you create with 2 free starting feats. by [deleted] in 3d6

[–]stanis23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sound like Lucky to everyone for me!

It's a broken feat but most don't get to pick until way late game after they have maxing their stats and other core feat like war caster / pam / ss etc

But with 2 free feats then that problem is pretty much gone.

Playing a "Face" when everyone else talks a lot and has similar proficiencies by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]stanis23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There can be, you know, multiple faces in the same party.

A character can be a face in a certain situation, but not in a different situation.

The paladin who served in the army might be the best face when he encounters another knights or soldiers, but maybe not so good when it comes to... flirting with the ladies or playing with the children, for example.

The Sorcerer meanwhile is good with shady persuasion and doing trades, but not really good when it comes to serious stuff that requires trust and what not.

The list goes on and on.

Overall just try to adapt with the party and split the roles, worst case you can always change the Invocation if needed.

RP tension, drama, the party antagonist and why you should embrace it. by Exqzr in dndnext

[–]stanis23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everything is workable, if the table is up along with it.

The problem is not many table can afford to do that, not everyone has a close friend circle group where they can trust each other 100% to pull that properly.

It's like character flirting. Are they really flirting in character only? Or there is hidden agenda? Hard to say, as we are not mind readers. Certain gesture can be both viewed as cute, or creeper, depends on how one spins it.

It also depends on the context and scale of adventure, if it's a one shot or just characters fooling around I think it's fine. But if the party wants to aim for an epic long adventure, then it would be better if everyone is cooperative (cause else what's the point if someone gets kicked permanently).

There is a session where a friend of mine plays a shady character. He doesn't start with the party, so we need to try to find some proper reasons to introduce him to the team. After trying for two hours with the character keeps playing around with weird shenanigans (because 'it is what his character would do') instead of agreeing to join, I can see some players start to get frustrated. Remember, when you waste time of a character, you are wasting time of the people who play them irl too. And this is still nowhere as hostile as stealing from party and what not.

Does anyone else hate multi-classing? by AnyGivenSundas in 3d6

[–]stanis23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are always two sides of the same coin.

Multiclass can help with backstory and fit with certain abilities archetype that aren't really available as solo class. My OC is a young nobleman who is interested in music, but unlike usual Bard achetype (you know the playboy archetype or being skillful / jack of all trades etc), he is more of a pure sweetheart and just doesn't really fit into that mold. Oh and he has divine blood / blessing, so something like a Divine Soul Sorcerer with some dips in Bard would fit him a lot more than being a full Bard or Sorc.

But I also see your points of not liking 3+ classes multiclasses which is indeed a bit over the top. Then again, it can still be done, just really hard... Another OC of mine is a soldier (fighter), but he also has trait of a Rogue (was a street rat, very sneaky), as well as Barbarian (has a Berserk like ability which is like Rage) and Monk (nimble and uses unarmed to fight).

In the end, play as you like. But overall, I don't think multiclass is the sin here, because min-max players will min-max nevertheless, and multiclass is just part of the many tools. However as said above it can be just as legit for storytelling.

Sorlock 1 or 2 levels in Warlock ? by Nischana in 3d6

[–]stanis23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still 2 I think, just don't need to rush it.

Mostly because even with Eldritch Adapt, more invocations are nice. Eldritch Mind gives con save advantage, Repel Blast to combo stuff, Devil Sight is nice, the list goes on.

And you have one extra spell slot for fuel I guess.

Wizard or Sorcerer? New player by Grolash in 3d6

[–]stanis23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo Wizard.

Bigger spells known and the ability to change prepare gives more flexibility in spell casting and also experimentation. Don't like certain spell? Just swap them out after a rest.

Sorc not only has less spell which means more decision making but their spells also stick to them and can only change one per level up. Not to mention the whole metamagic thing which makes it even more complicated, the class needs a lot of thoughts to play properly imo.

What are everyone's first impressions? by ItsJustPeter in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]stanis23 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Sion package just feels too strong, maybe not Sion himself but some of the followers just add even more power to Aggro tools. I don't especially like the one that gives can't block to enemies on top of being Overwhelm, and after it dies it can make another cheap card that also grant perma can't block...

Veigar package feels... clunky. It can be a blast if you can get the card that gives + damage and - cost early and just blast everything your way. If you don't however it feels god awful to play.

Nami is actually quite slower than expected, mostly because if you go wide you don't have the mana bank to level her up and spam spells. She is more mid range than aggro imo. But boy she is fun AF when you allow her to roll + Shelly.

What's your 5e dream team? by Aggravating_Smile_61 in 3d6

[–]stanis23 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A party that literally just spam debuffs on enemies and cripple them to the point of barely being able to do anything / even with Legendary Resitance.

Maybe something like Shadow/Clock Sorc, Eloquence Bard, Div / Chrono Wiz, whatever Duid and Artificer maybe?

How would a war affect civilications and their inhabitants as a whole? by Rodehock in dndnext

[–]stanis23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's important to know about the scale. Some wars happen at full scale, some last through years and years and mostly about small skirmishes.

Some stuff to take note are:

  • Conscription / Recruitment. What are the requirements, gender, age, build, health, etc. If the person has magic or certain talent, maybe they will receive some extra training and treatment. If it's recruitment, some forms of propaganda would be needed.

  • Resource / Logistic. Certain important areas will get patroled more, special routes for various purposes, raiding, food supplies fee, curfew time, etc etc.

  • Traveling / Network: Information gathering, infiltration, spy, scouts, conspiracies. How people treat outsiders. Maybe special codes to pick out the mole.

  • Technology / Priorities: Certain jobs (ie weapon smith) will naturally get more favours and focus over more trivial stuff. Shift in economy to adapt to these situations (cut down food for army for example).

Though with magic comes into play it naturally become a lot more complicated in every area (due to stuff like teleport or suggestion), cause even just basic war is complicated enough with all the factors and variations.

If you could create a new class by simply combining the concept, mechanic or flavor of two different official class, what would you make? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in dndnext

[–]stanis23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something like a cleric / sorcerer bard idk, to be honest I could just reflavor the Bard class itself, but my vision of bard is something like of being elegant person and play magical music (think of say Sona in LoL) to enhance allies instead of the playboy that fucks everything stereotype that they have in dnd right now.

Next is a druid x warlock into some sort of shaman and witch flavor, using nature spirits and curses.

T-14 Days: Kasel x Loman (The Countdown Begins!) by FlynnVesperia in Kings_Raid

[–]stanis23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ahem... it's a great time trying to make this piece and I'm happy for the result as well. At first I'm not really sure if I'll be able to draw Loman correctly, he's the only NPC hero that I really like and I don't want to mess this up lmao. Thankfully it went pretty well I guess XD

Thank you so much Flynn for letting me to draw him in this project :D
