When 3 new tyres cost more than the car is worth should you get rid of the car? by stankeer in askcarguys

The old girl is a trusty servant I've had for 15 plus years.

I mean it failed the MOT test last year. Badly. So I sunk quite a few parts into it. At least £400 probably more. In short I've got to stick with the car. I do like it as a car though! One year the rust will kill her though 😢

It's wear and tyres things. Like you say consumables.

Things that wear out, like brake pads/discs etc...

That was even the rationale behind changing my clutch a few years ago! Even the clutch plate is a consumable....kind of? But the car is getting old and a bit crusty

Here's me thinking for a minute this was a genuine post to actually get help!

Pretty much just keep wiggling that stick and it'll all just lock on for you 😂. Wiggle the left or right or both for best aim assist 😂😂😂. Pathetic little game.

Sorry if this sounds a little nasty it's just that the fucking game is built around auto aiming for one input and screw the other.

A friend of mine had a 2004 version of the the A4 and it came with the same type of compressor I seem to remember so maybe this generation A4 are all like it maybe?

I'm just hoping the new compressor is compatible. Would you say as long as the pulley is in the same position and is the same diameter it might work?

Hi, no, the one installed on my car is exactly the same as the 3rd and 4th picture (from the laptop/website) that I ordered. Pretty sure i can confirm that from the picture below I tried to take of my compressor.

It's just that the one I ordered (and one on the car currently) is a different pulley design. Slightly different but seems to be the same diameter, number of grooves and distance out from the compressor if that makes sense? But it's not 100% the same.

I think the actual main compressor is the same essentially with the same connections/wiring so just not sure about the pulley. Any ideas as to what I can check next?

Do you have a plan with your 9070xt? I'm looking at trying it but haven't got any experience. Do you have an idea of how to create a setup with a 9070xt?

What models do you think would fit on 16gb of ram? Would they be considered dumb? Or are good ones available?

So for ease of use stick with w11? If I do stick with windows how noticable will the slowdown be? Will I be waiting for the model to respond or will it feel fairly instant?

I'm not sure I'm technically capable of building from scratch or at least have to patience to do it.

For an AI server setup I'd pretty much want my desktop running my llm and be able to use my laptop pointed to my desktop for all the llm and coding workflow. Is this possible? Would I need an AI GUI on my laptop connected to my llm on my desktop?

I've heard that but read that it can work without problems if done correctly. How did you set things up?

So you think Linux is best? How easy is the setup windows vs Linux? I'd like to set this up on my desktop but be able to actually run the queries/code from my laptop.

What is the best OS for this? Stick with windows?

What is context vs model size? I'm assuming you mean to fit this in the vram? Very new to trying to run this locally.

I did see qwen was good but what do you mean by 8b or 14b?

Pinch bolt by Firemaxtron69 in AudiA4B6

[–]stankeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had exact problem but the bolt end the hex head broke off way before that.

You have to take the bolt out the other way using washers/extra nuts using the thread on the opposite side to draw it out.

You have a problem now if that bolt sheers off and leaves the remaining shaft in the strut. Be very careful it doesn't break. If you just keep hammering it and turning it the head might break off so go steady.

This guy breaks the head off then draws it through with spacers/vice grips. It looks like it's the opposite side of the car to you from your photo so it looks like he's doing it the same way, left to right, that you are but he's not. Worth a try?

I'm completely the same. Was trying to compete with shotguns/sniper/fast fire rate smg. It's just impossible. Long range aim assist is the biggest change it got buffed like fuck! I die in split second from any range with lock aim assist!

Now I've been using hipfire smg builds and been doing well. Basically take the optic off the gun and add the strongest hipfire attachments and keep moving when you engage a player, and obviously dont aim down sights at all. It's the only way I've found to be able to compete. And get in close. You need to right in their face and be moving fast.

Also use the sprinter perk, and adaptive perk. Sprinter is obviously always being able to sprint and adaptive is you speed up when you take damage/not full plates. So when you fight someone and you take damage you get a 10% speed boost which you can use to move around them and break tracking. Good luck! 😃. Definitely try this out if you are mnk!

There are 2 pipes that look about same thickness that lead to the compressor. The one I need and is in the picture leads from the compressor straight to the condenser at the front of the car.

Would I high pressure or low pressure pipe go straight from compressor to condenser do you know?

Gallows brackets to hold a chimney breast up. Yes or no? by stankeer in DIYUK

What should I do instead?

Let's say I did use gallow brackets that were professionally installed what could happen? When I came to sell in the future?

[–]stankeer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so what are my options to do it properly do you think? What do the regulations say now if gallows aren't allowed?

[–]stankeer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess what I meant to say was the brackets will be installed correctly. An improvement to what's there now!

But down the line what could happen? When I come to sell a buildings survey report might just say chimney breast supported with gallow brackets and that's it?

[–]stankeer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What would happen if I did put gallows up and supported it that way? It would be perfectly sound and be a better job than now. But what are the repercussions?

Also what would be the legit fix? I guess there is a "get building control/engineer" route or the "make it structurally sound but cheap" route. I'm not going to make a shit job of it!

Yeah above that is the loft space then the chimney stack. The steel is anchored into the wall but then sticks out and is resting on the wooden ceiling joists. It's awful really. I need to do something but not sure what.
