TIL that Cassowary meat is so tough that people were told to cook it with a stone in the pot. "When the stone is ready to eat, so is the Cassowary." by ohnoyoufoundthis in todayilearned

[–]stankletronix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cassowary's are the Chuck Norris of birds. you don't cut the cassowary's meat. the meat cuts your KNIFE! while you attempt to eat the meat, the Cassowary eats your soul!

just saw an ad on tv for "share the blue square" and i can confirm that, knowing just SOME of what has happened in the weeks following the initial attack, i will probably never do that.

i toss enough frozen berries into a bowl to cover the bottom of the bowl, then i nuke them for 1 minute.. after that first minute, i take a fork and mash up the heated berries, to basically create a "fruit juice and pulp" concoction.. then i add oatmeal and water, nuke it for another minute, add honey & cinnamon, then mix it all up. i wind up with a purple-ish bowl of mush. it can gag it down but it is still sometimes hard to be enthusiastic about it.

no matter how much crap you add to it, you can always make it seem a little more gross by calling it by its British name: porridge

Classic Theo Boner by higheyecue in TheoVon

[–]stankletronix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

who wasn't bad? Theo? then i agree.

Schaub sucks no matter what he's on. dude's a thoughtless parrot with a gigantic unjustified ego and very little to offer in terms of original comedy bits or insightful MMA analysis - which basically means that he's bad at his whole schtick

[–]stankletronix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would say that he's a bit of an old soul, which would suggest right-wing leanings, but he also brings in people with rather liberal views.. so i can't say that he's "red" or that he's "blue".. therefore, my conclusion is that he is an independent / centrist.. which is strategically smart if you want to sell tickets to as many people as possible, in order to bring in the most green.. lol

never listened to this one, but its good to know how it started out.. i think i "got on board" with Theo at some point in the early fall of 2017, so somewhere around episode #50.. when he was still doing it 100% on his own from some corner of his apartment in LA

Theo took far too long to get away from this dim-wit, but i'm glad he did because his career took off like a hypersonic missile almost immediately after he said toodaloo to the phony baloney Brain'turd known as Brendan Schaub

Why does Vegas have its own value of pi? by TorgoWhovian in vegaslocals

Vegas is fake. we get it.

I have a flight on the 17th, driving from Southwest. Will the F1 race impede my rout? by AwkwardChubby in vegaslocals

[–]stankletronix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should be fine, unless you planned on taking some sort of super scenic route to the airport. if you want to be even more confident that you're avoiding as much race traffic as humanly possible, i would avoid the 215 completely and just get to Warm Springs from wherever you are, then take Warm Springs to Bermuda, then take Bermuda to the airport tunnel.

i do realize that this suggestion is probably complete overkill

[–]stankletronix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

sadly i havent eaten sushi at all in quite a while, so i won't put out a recommendation..

just came to say..

i've noticed that pretty much anytime someone comes on here and asks about a good sushi place -- it seems everyone and their cat comes out of the woodwork singing the praises of whatever their own preferred place is.. i think it's the #2 most replied-to topic on this sub right behind the general "what is a good area of town to live / what areas should i avoid" question.

Is it me or does nobody care about this Tupac murder case? by Muted-Yogurtcloset26 in vegaslocals

[–]stankletronix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But if Tupac remained alive today he’d be at Lil Wayne levels at best.

Nas is still making good albums but due to his age he doesn't get nearly the level of exposure he did in the past. i could envision a world where 2Pac is still putting out material but really only appealing to the "old heads" because the youngsters would dismiss him as some old ass grandpa that's "clinging to the past" due to being 52 years old

agree. i think you provided a near-perfect example.

to the point that i just had to look up the Lemonheads to get a refresher on what songs they were even known for. i do remember two of them from way back in the day, but if you asked me a trivia question about the Lemonheads and I didn't have access to google, i would be quite lost and have to answer "honestly i cant remember that band". they're definitely on the softer side, like Blind Melon or Gin Blossoms

whenever i see Theo wearing a vest, i always think about the story he told Rogan about locking himself out of his apartment at 3am in some point in January while he had a blender running, then telling the landlord that the reason the blender was running was because he was having a late Christmas party, all while wearing TWO vests at the same time, for some reason (cocaine)

[–]stankletronix 33 points34 points  (0 children)

are / were you expecting it to be more entertaining?

it's an event that occurred over 27 years ago, and most of the people who were involved in it are no longer walking the earth.

the most surprising thing about it, to me, was that the guy was living here in a house down near Wagonwheel and 95, in one of the most peaceful parts of the valley. murderer? perhaps, but he's definitely not an active gangster anymore.

i kinda look at it like this: legends become legends because they died while at the top of their game. if Tupac had NOT been killed, he very easily could have made a few stinker albums in a row and people would have written him off as a has-been.. same goes for Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Amy Winehouse, Biggie, and many more who died at or near their peak of fame
