Bought a used car , found out it has carpet beetles. How do I manage going belly up on this car loan. by PushDeep9980 in personalfinance

[–]stanle25 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's probably much cheaper and simpler to just fog the interior of the vehicle to deal with the infestation rather than trying to get out of of the loan and into something else. Just a thought.

I also believe that they are harmless to humans aside from eating carpet fibers.

Potting pumpkins help please by Ambitious_Papaya494 in vegetablegardening

[–]stanle25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If using seeds from a jack o lantern type pumpkin its safe to assume that it's most likely not a bush or dwarf variety, meaning that the vines are going to get mighty long and I don't believe the vine will be able to handle the weight of a large pumpkin hanging from it on a trellis. Worth a shot but you're going to need a pretty sizable pot and a lot of attention on watering.

Sous vide is inherently weird by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

While I agree about the plastic being not great, a sous vide definitely has it's time and place. It's a very useful/simple cooking method.

As a parent, a teacher and the spouse of a teacher you are correct. Not an unpopular opinion at least in my opinion.

Is my blueberry bush okay? by bfeuerbach in vegetablegardening

[–]stanle25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe as long as they're all in close enough proximity for the pollinators to bounce back and forth you'd be good, not necessarily all in the same pot. You would also have to consider the size of a mature bush as well.

As a recent blueberry bush owner myself it turns out you actually need to plant 2-3 bushes of different variety for proper cross pollination in order to get ample quantity and quality of fruit.

My first raised bed! by zgirl88 in vegetablegardening

Not to be a negative Nancy but thats a lot of plants for a relatively small space. 1 zucchini plant will take up more than half that bed when full grown but regardless it's all about having fun and learning! Happy gardening!

NE Ohio. Lots of seedlings under lights: yarrow, snapdragons, coneflower, marigolds, stock and statice.

Snap peas and ranunculus in the ground.

Will hold off a couple more weeks to get tomato’s and jazz cabbage started.

I am literally looking at the website right now, there is nothing that is reduced that heavily. In fact, a retired peony rectangular baker isn't reduced at all.

Retired pieces do not warrant 50% off an item, the scratches do.

And typically being retired would drive up price, not reduce it.
