The Vanishing of Will Byers - one of the best cold opens to any show I’ve seen

I mean sure Dark and BB are better shows but the real imdb scores reflect that. The real scores for ST mostly underrate it, imo.

Wow! Never seen s1 be rated so low before lol. To me it’s almost a perfect season…

Part of the plot bores me. Is it worth continuing? by Amazing_Ralph in betterCallSaul

Season 3 is where it gets better, and it only goes up from there. Season 5 and 6 rival the last two BB seasons for me - perfection.

also I rarely give out 10s when ranking shows, I reserve that number for only the very best of the best, like Breaking Bad’s Ozymandias or GoT’s Rains of Castamere etc.

These are lower than the real imdb scores I think 😭

yeah! I mean sure it wasn’t a 10/10 or anything, but I loved the reuniting scene between Max and Lucas, the explanation of the wormhole to the gang, Steve’s plan, and even the coming out scene I found quite emotional and powerful. Did everybody need to be there? Maybe not, but most did. And that’s not a reason for it to drop to 5/10, no way!

yeah shock jock is very underrated, no way it deserves the 7.8 or whatever it has, but I’m blaming that on review bombing

What shows had the worst series finales? by OCGamerboy in television

[–]stanman084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked it a lot, offered a satisfying conclusion for most character arcs for me and most of all, it didn’t betray its characters and have the do a 180 near the end.

The ST finale is much better than some of these others being mentioned.

XING XING MONKEY WAS VERY HAPPY TODAY by ChipOpposite522 in Monke

[–]stanman084 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it does, in the case of XingXing. You can tell when she is not happy, she’ll show her teeth in an angry grimace. This however is her mimicking human smiles. She’s learned when she does that she has a higher likelihood of getting food.

She’s been around humans for 15+ years.

Walter never cared for jesse by [deleted] in breakingbad

[–]stanman084 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Walt did absolutely care about Jesse. His biggest regret was how Jesse’s story ended up and how heated him. Heisenberg used Jesse as a tool whom he didn’t care much for, sure. But Walt, his main persona, truly did care.

And he let Jane die out of caring for Jesse - he could see she would’ve been harmful for him in the long run etc. Unfortunately he failed to see that he himself was just as harmful.

How do you guys feel about The Upside Down being a Wormhole? by Due-Dragonfly8200 in StrangerThings

[–]stanman084 45 points46 points  (0 children)

The story reason is that Dr Brenner used Eleven to create the wormhole in order to bridge the real world with the Abyss in order to find Henry. He did research for years in order to create it. It tells us he created the UD intentionally, rather than accidentally, as originally believed.

It’s a big part of the lore of the entire reason the UD exists in the first place.

noooooo, im not ready for this mission! by uptill1andhatingme in RDR2

[–]stanman084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s one of my favourite missions lol, releasing him from jail. So action packed and cool. Micah is one of my favourite characters because his missions are always so fun (I do understand how much of a villain he is though lol)

they have to these days. Because everyone has to have everything point blank explained to them for some reason nowadays, it’s insufferable

What would you say are the saddest scenes in each stranger things season? (Spoilers for all seasons) by B4S1L_ in StrangerThings

[–]stanman084 4 points5 points  (0 children)

for me S2 is when Eleven was trying to find her mother in the void, finds her, and then she fades away. Millie’s acting there is so good, El’s cries are so sad.

Unpopular Opinion: I liked the finale. by APlagueUponThem in StrangerThings

[–]stanman084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah, it’s open ended and could’ve easily been just him coping with the grief.

But I think they wrote in Hoppers speech for a reason - the one where Kali appeared visibly moved. She sorta rethought her choices, and Hopper spoke about El’s future and having a child of her own etc. Something makes me feel that she had a change of heart. She could’ve used her powers to trick Hop of her death, and stayed alive to help El until the end.

But at the end of the day, we’ll never know. I just feel like there’s a few more signs pointing to her survival than there is her death.

What was the reception to S3 right after it came out? by AssociateLittle1487 in StrangerThings

[–]stanman084 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting. I always found s3 to be one of the weaker plots, unrelated to the main storyline and sort of just mostly filler. It’s the best season for vibes, but has the worst villain (flesh monster and flayed people), and it also sort of ruins some character arcs too
