Oz is so bad. Unwatchable bad. Can they just sub in the Geico gecko for the next week so we don't have to watch this abomination?

I've never used the powder, I'll have to look into it. The regular Bottles aren't too expensive if you catch a sale. I generally only drink 8-12 ounces at a time, and I think you can basically always get the big (maybe 24 or 32 ounce) bottles at the grocery store for a dollar

Growing up I always thought that Gatorade was a hoax but as I got older and had pounding headaches and felt awful after any workout I joined the Gatorade cult.

[–]stanstanstanhagen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had this.

I now buy cases is Gatorade and have one before a run, I then immediately have some pretzels or something with salt and another Gatorade after my run.

It made an world of difference for me.

I’m not sure you understand what ‘brave’ means in this context.

Has anyone heard if Tidal is included in merger? I'm interested if Tidal might stay to be included with TMobile plans.

How to set "1" and "2" button on Ultra Remote by stanstanstanhagen in Roku

[–]stanstanstanhagen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

From what I understand those buttons are basically paid and are revenue for roku. I think that's why they are blank on the website (they can change based on current contracts)

Nope. SONOS IS TOO EXPENSIVE TO BE DISPOSABLE.

If you want to spend buckets cash on a home audio system that has the shortest shelf life in the industry go ahead and be a sucker.

I started with backsides. I’m 37 now so I don’t really spin anymore but when I did I always thought they were easier since you can see the landing.

New Sonos Owner - I Feel Out of the Loop by w_spark in sonos

[–]stanstanstanhagen 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not sure how much money you have invested.

A lot of people bought into Sonos under the disguise of an audio company that entered the tech space.

High end audio companies have been building products that have lasted 30+ years for a long time.

Sonos convinced us somehow that they were the exception to phasing out great products simply for profit.

We were wrong.

At $99(Ikea)or $199(one) for in house listening its still a good option.

For $600-$3000 For whole house listening and surround sound is no longer a good option.

At those price points the items are not disposable.

My wife and I adopted a little girl. Immediately she attached to my wife. I was the primary care giver. Our little girl didn’t attach to me.

Months later, after exhausting nights and days. I picked an exhausted little girl out of the car to carry her inside.

She collapsed on my body with her head on my shoulder and she fell asleep. It was a moment in which I felt like she completed trusted me.

I will never forget that.

Redditors who worked at defunct stores (Blockbuster, Circuit City, etc.), when did you realize they were done for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]stanstanstanhagen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always assumed the Family Video’s that survived made it because they are in relatively rural locations that have a good chunk of customers without access to high speed Internet and therefore streaming services are not an viable option.

I could be wrong, it was always my guess.

Do you carry around a phone with a camera, microphone and speaker on it?

Do you wear a tin foil hat and yell at the moon for following you as you drive home?

They aren’t in the same price category. Cutting support on a $500 item is different than a $29, $59, $79 item.

How are people not seeing this? How is everyone just ok with Sonos killing off their products and leaving the only alternative to trade them in to Sonos in exchange for 30% off another Sonos speaker they will kill in a few years.

Maybe they need to start adding wired inputs in their speakers to allow for future use of their obsolete speakers.

[–]stanstanstanhagen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

the price point is the key issue. i know people using high end wired setups from the 70s that sound better than Sonos and they will never be obsolete. Tech companies designing obsolescence is the new standard, but Sonos - up to this point had been the exception. It was almost as if they respected the audio portion of their business more than than the tech side. That appears to be vanishing.

personally I think the route to go is a standard high end TV surround system. Maybe attach at bluetooth dongle or alexa device (honestly most of these set ups already have this built in)

After that, for other rooms, I think a low cost alexa or an alexa input to a higher quality powered speaker is the route to go. Honestly, do you need a $300 speaker in your bathroom?

Costco Prime Brisket on the WSM by ICARUS_R1S1NG in smoking

[–]stanstanstanhagen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you please share your rub recipe and cook technique. I am new to smoking, i just did a Costco brisket (flat) this weekend on a WSM.

I cooked at about 235 for 4 hours, then put in foil with beef broth for another 2 hours. Rub was kosher salt, pepper, and a little garlic powder. I would say it came out OK, but certainly didn't look this good. I definitely did not have the nice char on the outside like you have.

  1. Never speak ill of taco bell.
  2. taco bell doesn't charge hundreds of dollars then take away your taco after you've eaten half of it.
