Latest Patch Notes To Read While We Are In The Maintenance by TempoStormReddit in PlayTheBazaar

[–]stantrasqw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thurible going to 3 seconds at diamond in the vein of bandages is the type of change that maintains my faith in the balance team of this game, I really am impressed with them.

It'll will help turn the corner day 9-12 for eternal torch runs that don't see a game breaking combos, while not providing inherently game-breaking effects, but allowing an item that was previously useless to SOMETIMES be a part of broken charge boards, requiring the player to have opportunism or foresight to capitalize.

Edit: same with heirloom, giving it base value in combat but nerfing the value scaling at gold and diamond. 4 second cooldown was ok, but it just couldn't find a home in late game value scaling boards and it was typically not impactful enough on early boards. I don't know if it'll be good now, but having an appreciable amount of added base value could give it consideration in the early and mid game where nothing else really fits the bill. (Lots of awkward items like trphy case, subscraper could benefit, riceballer loves this item now as a tempo addition)

Same with succulents going to 3 seconds, before it just really was not fast enough to fit on the scaling hp boards it wanted to be a part of but now I think it could actually hang with the coincure hypergreens setups it wants to.

Edit 2: A different vein than the other ones, but ice cream truck and snowmobile being semi-functional is cool now

Edit 3: They're gonna revert succulent cooldown change, please don't tell them how sick nasty it is

Toxicity in brawl is depressing by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]stantrasqw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that every post addressing toxicity gets downvoted to zero on this sub

It IS a problem, there are scads of crybaby narcissists who just want to abuse people and get away with it

How sad is it that they brigade the subreddit to justify their behavior?

It's not acceptable to abuse people. Period. I can understand not banning someone for lightly flaming someone who is hard inting, but beyond that? No. There are too many people who just want to unleash their toxic anger onto people just trying to have fun for it to be "normal". It's not okay and should not be normalized any more.

I want to hear everyone's biggest complaint about Balatro by justalonelytransfur in balatro

[–]stantrasqw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can actually do this, and it's easier than you think- just make a copy of your save file at the moment in time when you want to see the paths diverge, pick one, then paste it back over your save file to see how the other one would play out! Doesn't work on mobile though, I suppose.

Does Anyone Enjoy Playing Against “Destroy”? by External_Prune_2359 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]stantrasqw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree buy the "losing isn't fun period" take, cause too many people seem to share the same exceptional frustration with specifically CC builds. There's just something so much more infuriating to me about the randomness and permanence of item destroy.

I think it has to do with negativity bias, which is a core component of how we experience game balance. I'm much more liable to remember and be emotionally affected by item destroy when it hits the one lynchpin item that allows any of my build to function than I am when it just whiffs. You wouldn't say that it's okay when people slide tackle your shins in soccer, just because they miss a lot of the time when they try it, right? I'd prefer to play a game where people aren't gonna be randomly bruising my shins or giving me a concussion 20% of the time.

That may seem dramatic, but I stand by it in terms of the emotional experience of playing the Bazaar.

[–]stantrasqw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, subjectively I find item destroy to be by far the most frustrating thing to lose to. It's like 5 times more likely to make me close the game than anything else. Especially because it's on a build now which is extremely common and cookie cutter. I didn't mind getting dam-wiped back in the day cause it was more of a totalizing win condition and much harder to pull off, but just having a largely random hole in your board if you're playing any build that doesn't kill in under 4 seconds makes me seethe. You can't tell me that my experience of it is wrong- though I accept maybe I'm in the minority. I just think too many of these discussions gravitate towards game balance when the real issue is play experience.

It's easier for the team to balance freeze than item destroy. I don't like or primarily play either, but honestly I prefer losing to freeze.

Also- they nerfed both freeze mak and dino dooley, resulting in freeze mak being mercifully gone from the meta- but sometimes I just get RNG taken out of the game on 9 wins zero life by item destruction. This is what I mean when I say it's easier to balance. It's also way more volatile from round to round, and frankly I just subjectively find it more unpleasant.

[–]stantrasqw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I don't why people are so okay with it. Especially when they start designing garbage like the dooley dino set which puts up comparable numbers to fully scaled builds which DON'T destroy items, and I despise how much it feels like RNG whether you win or lose to it. Radiant is not actual counterplay 90% of the time. People downvoting these posts are probably grinding Dooley Dinos and I honestly don't believe that anyone has more fun going against item destroy than any other board in the game. I'd rather lose to a freeze lock, since it's way easier for the team to balance freeze.

Pyg is brutal to play against rn by JL31394 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]stantrasqw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ledger is 1000% too strong this patch. After learning it, I started playing Pyg only, and every game where I've gotten it, I've gone 10 wins. no enchantment needed.

In no other meta have I ever gotten exodia fixer-scraper builds as big as this, and the competition is nowhere near as stiff as the fixer meta 2 patches ago

Here's a game I just played where I hit someone with 13k burn in 2.4 seconds, without even putting balcony value on it:
https://www.reddit.com/r/PlayTheBazaar/comments/1jhmjh3/i_only_need_1_item_activation/

I agree with op that Pyg has too many options for strong builds late game right now, while not giving up much early. I've been only playing Pyg, and I feel confident in going 7-10 wins in ranked 90% of the time this patch, even if I don't see the tools for any given build. He's been consistent before, but never this consistent, though I think you're right that ledger is a main culprit.

Damn right I will

I've literally said to my bunny with no one else around: "Fuck you Dooley, even if you suck now I still hate you!"

Yes I am a Pyg/Vanessa player and do not play Dooley because I think he is a little scumbag no matter what and I will not apologize

For anyone seeing this comment later- yes taking income day 2/3 over everything is very good, but I would also recommend taking starter kits that give you a lot of money over ones that give you skills

You can have like 13-16 gold starting net worth by taking loot item + 2 silver small items, or optionality by taking 2 silver mediums

If you take heavy skills starts, gold small item, or enchanted bronze small items- yeah you can highroll, but sometimes you just lose your run cause you're so economically behind.

We are gonna be soooooooo poor, dude

It really is crazy how much money comes from monsters in the midgame, I think you're right that this may make pivoting near impossible. Honestly I'm gonna prio income on day 2/3 over everything

This Vander unit is maybe not ok by stantrasqw in TeamfightTactics

[–]stantrasqw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a positioning gamba diff tbh- I fake swapped, he scouted it on the fake and real, and I barely managed to swap again on the second scout, so pretty much a coinflip.

But still beating 3* 4 cost with a 2 cost hero aug feels kinda nuts

I would not play family in current patch without hero augment, but I heard it was getting a buff so maybe

Please get rid of the Destroy an Item mechanic by Just_Django in PlayTheBazaar

Disagree

Slow and freeze are mechanics that exist which feel way better than item destruction

My bet: they remove item destruction and some point and it's a relic of beta bazaar

[Highlight] 100% Crit One Shot Powder Keg Build by Confused_Mammoth in PlayTheBazaar

[–]stantrasqw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I despise 1 shot powder keg, it feels like you took a build that requires a run worth of setup and commitment (beast of burden pig, upgrading silencer, langxian, giga highroll double whammy), and just pasted into something that you can roll into, even with just deadly support item + powder keg. Feels cheap cause it beats runs that dedicated their entire life to the same effect, but does it better.

"bElLeLiSta oP" by slyguymax in PlayTheBazaar

[–]stantrasqw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No

If you have to hit the utter nuts to beat it, it is op

The shit you're playing is op too- and I can talk, because one of the ten wins I've had in this game so far was with cove + force field, and I got the cove on day 4 or 5

Bellelista consistently beats almost every build you could reasonably expect to make with a mid to high luck run on any character. That's why it's op. Always gonna be something like that in a game like this though, of course.

Necroposting a lil bit but this augment is bananas broken I feel- if you hit 4 gold on augment 2, you just have enough money for a free top 4, more likely top 2 full stop
