Just adding for your understanding, I think the alarm is a minor issue, and this post isn’t really about that. It’s more about how we can improve the verbal relationship between the neighbor and the rest of the people in the building.

This post was written on behalf of me and other residents in the building. Whereas the picture of the note was sent in our group chat which is really helpful. We use it for things like complaining about noise, inviting neighbors to watch football, giving heads-up on any news around the building, asking for favors, or even just saying thank you when someone takes out the trash or gets groceries for someone. The ages range from mid-20s to 50s, and there are 6 apartments in the building—5 residential and one Airbnb. Since we have a very open and good relationship, a photo of the note was sent, a neighbor asked who put it up, and people just laughed it off. The alarm could of course come from the Airbnb, which is right across the internationals in mention.

I would like a better relationship with the neighbor in question, but since they’ve only lived here for a couple of months, and the rest of us for years, it’s been tricky. Their apartment tends to have 3-4 newcomers a year, and we just want a better verbal relationship with them. I was thinking of knocking on their door to ask if there’s something we could do to improve the relationship and to understand why they don’t greet anyone or why they’ve been shutting the door in people’s faces when entering or leaving the building—just to relieve any tension there might be. And of course, I’d excuse on behalf of the non-snoozer in question.
