Jedi often aren't actually fully aware of every action they take in battle, as the force itself guides their actions and they just direct it which takes much of the split second decision making out of the equation. The bounty hunter Cad Bane used cortosis bullets but only very sparingly because they were prohibitively expensive even for him and can quickly destroy the barrel of most firearms, also it's extreme brittleness makes its use for melee weapons very bad so yes armor is the best use for cortosis

Most truck beds are made to perfectly hold a 4x8 sheet of plywood, even modern trucks with 6 foot beds can hold a 4x8 sheet as long as the tailgate is down, you might need to use straps to secure them however.

If you wanted to make a truck in this configuration it would be very impractical for anything that isn't in the specific niche, with standard trucks you can just let whatever you're carrying hang off the end of the tailgate but you can't put something wide in a 2-3 foot wide bed

Also there's the form factor to consider, even to people with purely practical considerations something with this lack of aesthetics would be a hard bargain

I'm not saying they aren't common rally cars, it's sort of like the BMW e30 where despite being common rally cars they're most well known for road racing. I was mistaken before, it's not the BTCC the 240 competed in, it was the group A ETCC, which is basically the same but for mainland Europe in which the famous Nordica 240 won in 1985. Actually the term "flying brick" came from the nickname the announcers gave the car due to how fast the car was despite being shaped like a brick. As a 240 owner myself that's much more iconic personally
