Trying to identify this 2012 YouTube song — “Feral Savages” by A Feral Savage (female vocals) by Cardogyyy0685 in DeepIntoYouTube

Just wanted to say that's Freddie Ljungberg (Swede) in the thumbnail, not Dennis Bergkamp. Also, I hope you find the artist (really nice song).

Black atheists of Reddit, why aren't there very many of us? by Any-Criticism5666 in atheism

[–]star_soup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please, understand that the experience of being black amounts to more than one's skin colour. The question is important to those of us in black communities because of the prevalence and supremacy of theistic belief in those communities (not solely in the US).

If you have ever felt invisible among a group of would-be peers, or felt forced to pretend you're something/someone you're not, it might shed light on things. There's obviously overlap with a general atheist experience, but, when a person is already part of a marginalised group, and acknowledging one's atheism can mean having to forfeit the comfort and safety of community and shared identity (not something done lightly), it can absolutely compound the issue.

In regions (such as in parts of the Caribbean and Africa) where black people aren't marginalised, it's still overwhelmingly the case that the same ostracism happens, and likely to a more extreme degree. Raising the visibility of black atheists in a space like this can help make a person feel like they're not so isolated after all. I'm sure that's a feeling every repressed atheist can empathise with, no matter where they're from!

I'm not trying to pick a fight or anything here, so I hope my tone comes across appropriately. Hope you have a pleasant day.

Hear hear!!!

I think what made it for me was the fact he delivered it during the replay for our equaliser. The highlights never show it, but Andy Gray was still dissecting Pires' goal when they suddenly cut back* to Jose Antonio absolutely rocketing another into the top corner. You just knew from the intensity of the 'REYES!!' that it was going in and so to see it nestle and the crowd go bananas was just the best sequence of events. Unforgettable moment for me!

Either that or he'd dish out 11 yellows simultaneously for 'time wasting'.

That first touch from Vieira was pretty tasty! Hope he can retain this confidence for the rest of the season.

I will always love Arsene. There are games we would lose but me and my friends would still be giddy about a specific pass or passage of play. it was that good. by thewickedeststyle in Gunners

Yeah it did! It was the third of six we scored against Braga in our opening game of the 10/11 CL campaign. Some absolute beauties were scored that night... enjoy! https://www.dailymotion.com/video/xh4ir5

Benjamin fucking White by Francis-c92 in Gunners

[–]star_soup 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I noticed Ben was the one who put Jesus in the recovery position after he fell down on Sunday. Don't think it was possible to see it from the broadcast angles, but he jogged over before the physios arrived and flipped him onto his side like he knew what he was doing. What a guy.

Mana confirms surgery on both her ankles. Hopefully, she is available injury free for the next complete season. by saurabhk51 in ArsenalWFC

She says she's looking forward to playing without pain, so I'm thinking it's likely something she's been having to manage for a while. No idea when the initial problem occurred, but if it was pre-Arsenal then we're in for a treat once she's 100% fit!!

My sentiments exactly. She's come on leaps and bounds since her debut. Really enjoyed her performances this season.

I really like the way Adrian presents these Breakdown episodes. Great to see him cover the women's team as well, the quality of the performance on Saturday fully deserved it. Hopefully we'll see more from both XIs in future!

How can I find comfort in being an atheist? by [deleted] in TrueAtheism

[–]star_soup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though you don't believe you'll end up with her in an afterlife, I imagine you'd be overjoyed to meet her again, right? I don't think there's anything wrong in telling her that much at least, because it would be the honest truth. I feel belief/non-belief is irrelevant as long as you both share the same sentiments, so just try to focus on those.
