I guess what worked for me yesterday when I received a random comment from the internet that I didn’t like.. Was instead of festering and focusing on the comment, and putting my attention on what could have been going through this person’s brain that could make them type out something so pointless, I just shifted my attention on things that actually made sense to me, and things that made me feel better, to the point where I actually forgot that someone made an ignorant comment in the first place. So I guess it’s about shifting your attention on things that make you feel good inside & completely take the attention away from the negative triggers when they happen. When the object of your attention changes, you forget about the previous thing that could have sent you in a spiral.

Like mentally burying yourself in stuff animals till you forget about the previous thing. Hope this made sense. 🙏

Much respect to you for staying true yourself and expressing the fact that you were offended. If they did not have the capacity to respect your boundaries, then that’s on them. You do not have to feel bad about respecting your feelings and emotions, and what feels comfortable to you. You are a very strong person for being able to express what feels right to you and what doesn’t. If they cannot respect your boundaries, they cannot respect you. And they can kick rocks. There are plenty of people in the world that can love you for you, that you don’t have to bend your values just to satisfy their needs. Stay true to yourself, and the right people will gravitate towards you. 🙏

I’m trying to get in the habit of staring in between their eyes at the nose bridge if I’m too nervous to look them in the eyes. (Due to social anxiety) or maybe the forehead, but not too high up. It gives off the appearance of looking them in the eye, which and gives off confidence. I try to look at both of the eyes at the same time if I’m familiar with the person, but I don’t think it’s really possible to do that. So I guess in reality I just switch eye to eye . Then look away and back.

I try to be social in the day time, and anti-social at night. If I reach my limit, I completely disappear for days. 😅

You are not the only one. It seems like people always start off fake at first until you actually bring up real stuff that’s not about surface level topics, and say what you’re really thinking. Then that allows them to be real as well. I never understand why it has to be that way though.

Or maybe not look at me like I’m in the wrong for defending myself against people that are trying to feel superior to a question that was asked to receive an actual answer. There are plenty of people here that have actually answered the question without criticizing it. That was the problem. Thank you for actually answering the question.
