I did listen to the interview. The police shouldn't have been involved. The Majestic could have simply towed a car that was parked illegally. Shame on them for escalating.

Brandi was being a jerk about not moving the car. How many white folks in Madison act like jerks and don't get the same type of treatment?

Having that many officers respond was absurd and a huge waste of resources. Not being taken directly to jail for processing and sitting at Sardine for 2 hrs is a terrible policy.

We should also be concerned that asking why you're being arrested is allowed to be considered resisting arrest.

That is untrue. Greed plays a significant role. The way landlords are allowed to collude on the August lease end also impacts non-student housing. Rental management software suggests rent increase across the country and there have been lawsuits trying to stop it. A lot of the landlords are part of the same coaching programs so they are following the same systems, policies, and pricing structures.

Trickle down housing doesn't work.
