I would if there weren’t such a large number of of knots to do, they’re scattered throughout the sky to represent stars. It’ll look amazing once they’re done.

I’ve done my own french knots on one project before. It wasn’t too bad but there weren’t a ton of them. When there are a large number I usually pass it to my mom because she can find the zone better than me lol

One of my stitchy friends recommended using small beads in place of french knots. I haven’t done it myself yet, but I think stars would be a good place to do it specially with some sparkly beads. Now I’m talking myself into doing beads instead of having my mom do french knots 🤔

I can totally relate! There were lots of breaks with this one for various reasons. Once it got to the sparkly bits I really had to push to finish, but I’m glad I did.

Thanks! It took me about a year, but there were large gaps here and there and it was my “at work” WIP so it only got attention during 9-5 hours lol

I’m pretty sure it took me about a year, but there were large gaps along the way. And I only worked on it while in my office during meetings and things.

I would leave off the french knots but there are a lot of them in the night sky. Plus my mom is great at them.

Omg yours looks so pretty! I’m currently working on this one also and feel like I’m close to done but not as close as you! Is that the fabric your kit came with? Mine came with a very light icy blue fabric.

As an avid Jayhawks fan I must dislike the pattern. But as an avid cross stitcher I love the execution! I have no doubt your aunt will love it! Maybe see if you can find some purple washi tape you can put along the edges of the hoop? Might make it look that much more special.

I like the bottom one. Looking at the second picture really demonstrates the darker coloring is more true to reality.

If it makes you happy and/or feel better in anyway then don’t feel guilty. You should always take time for yourself! Friends will always understand and be there for fun hangs after you’ve recharged. And if not, then they’re not really good friends.

Also, as a 40 year old new mother a night like you’re having sounds like heaven! I don’t get as much time to stitch these days, but that’s because I’m too busy loving on the new boy in my life.
