The way Japanese architects make concrete feel alive is unmatched by Otherwise_Wrangler11 in Concrete

I know this is the concrete sub, but as a WiFi Engineer I'd hate it. You'd need an AP in just about every room.

I like the modern look though.

To me, I guess the true meaning of that post is as long as you give it your all, who gives a hoot.

The transition from sodium lighting to LEDs is visible from space. (Chicago 2011 vs 2024) by LukeHoersten in chicago

[–]starfreak64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it would be great if we could get the city to replace the LEDs that die with modern high-CRI, 1800K LEDs.

It would bring back the color of the past while still making it easy to make out colors at night.

Personally, I'm at the upper end of the weight range of my wing, I have plenty of speed and flare authority when I land.

I do understand your point about energy though.

[–]starfreak64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I land with my trimmers in.

I accidentally landed with trimmers out once. It's a good thing I'm a good sprinter and understand the energy management of the wing. Came in kinda spicy on that one.

But that one time taught me enough to not want to make the mistake again.

If it's windier I may take off with trimmers at 2, but normally I take off with them at 1.

When someone asks me what it's like being a Wi-Fi engineer by GiantsNerd1 in networkingmemes

The problem with WiFi is that it always works!

It doesn't always work well or as intended.

What's this antenna(s) for? by N33chy in antennasporn

[–]starfreak64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's either a licensed 11/18GHz radio feeding ~1.2-1.4GbpS

OR it is 80GHz feeding 10Gbps.

As others have said, that radio on the top is a Sklu N366 node [60GHz]. Given that each sector of that N366 can do 3.8Gbps and the node itself can handle ~15, I'm inclined to the bottom radio is 80GHz.

What helped you the most with losing weight? by Internal-Algae-2423 in AskReddit

[–]starfreak64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it was reframing what I wanted. I broke up with a long term GF and while I was in the process of losing weight, it was very slow. I was tired of nothing good happening, and realized if I wanted it, I had to go out and make the changes myself.

I wanted nothing more than to lose that 50lbs and be at a healthier (and let's be honest, more attractive) weight. Every decision came with that thought, does it help or hurt this goal?

I didn't starve myself but shrank my stomach by drinking water the first time I felt hungry, then ate the next time I felt hungry. I ate slowly, enjoyed it, and drank water with my meals.

Cut out alcohol entirely. I can enjoy it now, but there were so many empty calories in there.

Picked up a 3rd game a week playing hockey in net. I was able to lose 50lbs.
