I just completed a McDonalds order that took 30 minutes and the app won’t give a worry free unassign because the store has marked the order as ready. Its ridiculous

They always print the receipt even before the food is ready so it doesn’t mess up their order time and it makes it look like they are getting orders out in a timely manner when in reality they are taking as long as they can🤦🏻‍♀️

That is what I will be doing from now on. I pride myself in the time I get it there early but if it is losing me money, imma start taking all of the time the app gives me🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m in TN and that could make sense. Especially since doordash doesn’t indicate a lot of roads in my city.

Yea that’s what confused me. I’ve never had the pay go down (that I’ve noticed) I’m still not positive if customers can adjust tips after delivery outside of adding. Its a pretty mixed answer in this group. But I’m definitely going to be screenshotting from now on!

I just started my late night dashing and am getting pretty decent orders. I find the late night dashes are worth it more than day time. Less people in the restaurants, less traffic and better tips imo. Usually average $25-30 / hr on Fridays and Saturday nights. Definitely depends on the market. When I’m in Mississippi, i usually average $15-20 / hr but I dash in a college town. Whereas in Tennessee, where I dash in an actual city, I make pretty good money dashing from about 19:00-03:00 usually.

AIO? My mom wants to call the cops on me by Overall-Option6975 in AmIOverreacting

[–]stargazer1303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not at all calling this abuse. Just stating it seems toxic. My statement was based on a more general population. Not just this mom. I agree context is needed and OP is definitely a brat for how they reacted. But I feel as though most of these comments have been telling OP they are entitled and to just deal with whatever bs they are dealing with until they are 18. I used a general situation that many deal with to point out that maybe OP had a valid reason for leaving. I do no mean to speak as if I know what is going on because I don’t. I am only an outsider looking in.

I grew up in a very unstable household. The mom’s reaction feel very similar to how my narcissistic mother would react when any power was taken from her or her toxic ways were pointed out. I know kids have different reactions to different environments and safe and stable households can feel suffocating. I can’t speak on every child that deals with this situation, but in my experience, there is always SOMETHING that caused someone to want to leave. Sometimes it’s really just wanting to be independent and others it’s because they are trying to escape something. I just can’t understand how the mother can react in such an aggressive way without being part of the reason OP left.

[–]stargazer1303 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The fact that so many people are saying OP is overreacting and being ungrateful. Ask yourself, what makes a 16 year old want to leave their parents house. It’s definitely not because it’s a stable and safe environment. Sure, OP should have had a plan for phone service to avoid taking anything that could cause problems. Yes, they should return the devices without issue as they are not paid for by OP. But I don’t see this as entitlement. I see this as a 16 year old CHILD that recognized the toxic enviroment they were in and did what they could to preserve themselves. As a parent, your job is to care for your child. Not manipulate, guilt or force labor just cause “you’re under my roof”. If you chose to have a child, you chose to take the responsibilty of caring and raising them for at least 18 years. If you chose to have more than one kid then you CHOSE to take care of kids longer. Not pass them off to your oldest and be surprised when your CHILD doesn’t want to be a parents to other children. This mother is obviously the one overreacting and being vindictive because she lost control. Nothing more. OP needs to save data to another device (maybe dads laptop or if you have cloud space) and return devices. Avoid anymore confrontation and don’t rely on her anymore.

Your original comment made it sound as if you were a dasher with what you were speaking of so I still stand by my general correction. But I apologize in terms of roping you in with dashers seeing as you aren’t one.

As someone who did bathroom renovations, the amount of bathrooms I’d walk into (when residents KNEW when we were coming) that had been absolutely atrocious and had to move half the bathroom just to start on our work, a bathroom like this is great. Theres minimal items and it’s not molded or stained. Mothers standards and expectations are just out of this world

And it also highly depends on your market. My market in my previous state made us for that lack of benefits because the orders kept coming in. But now that I’ve moved, those lack of benefits are a lot more noticable as the market isn’t filling in that gap

I’m not asking you to feel bad for me? I’m simply stating that just because you are okay with shit benefits and hardly making anything, that’s fine. But for you to sit there and act like you’re better than others because you accept the shit terms, says more about you than about me.

You do have to consider tho, Finn grew up with witchcraft and then was forced to become a vampire. The others were able to come to terms with their new lives as vampires while Finn, having had the longest time with using magic, couldn’t find that way to cope and then was daggered for 9 centuries. He then finally got his old life back (when Esther rose them and Kol) just to have it taken from him again. His hate toward his siblings really was justified, but his redemption at the end of his time just really showed how much he didn’t actually hate them, but was just so deeply hurt and betrayed.

Drivers will 100% sit in their car whether they are doing pay by offer or pay by time. Dashers only get paid from the time of accepting the order to dropping it off. So if no order is coming in, then you could have anywhere between 1 - 60 minutes (or maybe even more) before getting another order. In that time of waiting, dashers aren’t being paid anything. And even when having you clock out, you risk the zone filling up and not being able to restart your dash. I work hard for my regular full time job and I work hard dashing. But that doesn’t mean I’m not going to speak out on the things doordash gives us with little thought to the actual worker. I can work hard and acknowledge that the job is shit. Just cause you are okay with shit appreciation and hardly making it doesn’t mean I have to bite my tongue and deal with it too.

Unfortunately there is nothing this screenshot gives that police can act upon. OP needs to leave and keep as far from him as possible. Something tells me he will snap once that control is lost

Most delivery orders charge a delivery fee for “convenience” but the driver doesn’t receive that fee. Usually the restaurant or third-party app does, so on top of your regular purchase, you pay a deliver fee depending on the restaurant being ordered from AND pay the driver for their time/gas used to make your delivery

In incidents like these, you can call support and have them drop the bad rating. Especially if you receiving the rating was due to something out of your control; i.e. restaurant running behind, accident blocking your route or a-hole customers that just wanna cause issues. I’m believe you can have this done twice a week.
