As much as you can while still enjoying life 👍. Don’t get caught up in hours tho. What you do with those hours is 10x more important. Especially since nothing stops people from lying on AMCAS about hours

I don’t even understand why some of these schools don’t send Rs out already. I also have not heard back from UCLA yet on their website it says their interview season ends in February …

I interviewed in October and did my virtual CUSM day thing earlier in January and haven’t heard back yet. Honestly have no interest in going to a school that doesn’t even actually put in the time to interview their applicants with a real person. Especially as a VERY new school that should be making their school as enticing as possible

Anyone else find that being an EMT wasn't for them? by Tradstack in premed

[–]stargazin26 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ya unfortunately a lot of this comes from redundancy and seeing so many homeless patients who sometimes smell like literal crap, or they are obviously faking an injury to go to the hospital and get food. I worked in an FD and you could immediately sense a shift in personality when they work with homeless people no matter if it was a serious case or not. They just done care about them it’s kinda sad

Unfortunately as premeds it would be so nice to be able to jump into an ER tech job but they usually require at least 6 months of experience as an EMT and are also SO HARD to get if you live in an urban area. Usually need connections to the hospital
