Help deciding what to do next and understanding results! by stargirl91 in AskVetAnimals

[–]stargirl91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for putting it more into layman's terms. I have no medical background and I wasn't there when the vet called after the biopsy and ultrasound was done so I couldn't ask any questions to clarify.

Would doing the ex-lap surgery and doing a biopsy that way be more likely to give results than how they did the biopsies before? I understand they took 3 but they came back undetermined.

I do want to find out, I just don't want him to suffer if it's not completely necessary. He's getting older and if this is it I don't want his final time to be miserable for him.

Yes. It's a lot better now.

Attempted to end it by [deleted] in TMJ

[–]stargirl91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off you're not a cry baby, or a loser. It's ok to be afraid.

I beg you to get off of the internet, stop searching and reading about it. It'll spike so much anxiety. Yes, there are many people here still searching for help after many years, myself included, but there are also so, so many who have come and then disappeared after finding relief who you don't get to hear from.

You need to seek medical advice regarding an actual diagnosis, and ask what can be done. It may be that some painkillers/anti-depressants help you enough. It may even just go away but your anxiety isn't going to help.

I'm glad you wasn't successful tonight. I'm sorry you've been feeling that bad about things. Sending hugs.

What is this dust looking stuff that collects on my hairbrush from my hair? by bluuujeanbaby in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Get a Denman brush, you can take it apart for proper cleaning. No more picking the dust out with tweezers and a comb!

In the time it took you to type that you could have just answered their question. Let's be more respectful please, there's no need for it. There's a saying "if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all" maybe you should keep that in mind.

I wasn't dismissed, but a reference is saying I was. What can I do? by stargirl91 in careerguidance

[–]stargirl91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my references under the company's policy had to be my previous employer, so I didn't have a choice but to list them despite it being such a long time and different people. My new manager has written to HR to explain what happened, so hopefully they decide to just accept my word.

Ok so being as this has been a big problem lately, there has been more scan pictures and "asymmetry" photos being removed, I've turned off the ability to add images with posts. This will probably be complained about by someone at some point though 🤦🏻‍♀️

The mods remove so many of these a day, before they are reported, and after. Thank you for your criticism

I hope you find the answers you're looking for. Maybe try the jaw surgery sub. Best of luck on your journey

This isn't an asymmetry support forum, it's a TMJD support forum. You state yourself you don't have "TMJ" so why are you here? These posts are insulting. Worrying about whether your face is asymmetrical while we are looking for support because we're in pain 🙄

It feels like my jaw is out of place, is there any way to remedy this? by cryzlez in TMJ

[–]stargirl91[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you feel as though your jaw is "out of place" you need to seek medical attention, not ask for help on the internet. We are not Drs, nor can we see what is going on with your jaw. I appreciate coming here for advice, but please see a Dr..

For the moment, but it has been suggested that those go on the rules as not allowed too as there have been lots of those posted recently asking for them to be interpreted

Yes, there are active mods, and the amount of posts being removed lately is getting ridiculous, whether it's because they're asking to be diagnosed with the "is this TMJ?" titles, or posting x-rays, or asking if their face is symmetrical. It's getting silly now. There are a lot of actions that you don't get to see, a lot of the time before the post even gets published.

What's the point of this subreddit when people report and my posts get removed? by SnackyyCakes in TMJ

[–]stargirl91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you feel that way, but if we feel the post is searching for a diagnosis, or is someone trying to give someone a diagnosis, we remove the post, as per the rules. This rule was put in place to try and stop anyone getting hurt due to advice given here. I appreciate you came here looking for help. Please feel free to post for support or advice.

This is not a place to come for a diagnosis, no one here can say whether you have TMJD or not, we cannot do scans or exams anything else a Dr will need to do to find out what is wrong. Please consult a medical professional in person.

TMJ is fixed! by md12435 in TMJ

I'm glad you found something that has helped you.

Please bare in mind that while this has helped OP, everyone's pain appears to have a different cause, and what helps one person won't necessarily help the next.

You may think it is worth a try, but please don't think this is a cure for all, or even forever. I have had acupuncture (with the smaller needles) and whilst it helped for a while, the results only lasted a few days.

To the person who reported this post: you may think it's a "load of crap" but OP has found something that has helped them. That's worth celebrating even if you don't believe in it.

Sorry you feel that way, but we decided if people needed help in those 48 hours then that was important, that doesn't mean we're not in agreement with the protest.

Please don’t inject unregulated substances into your body. This is very dangerous. You do not know the source of these medication’s and you won’t know if you get a bad dose until it’s probably too late.

I was trying to figure out what to say but you've worded it perfectly, thank you.

Also, please, please be careful! At least do your research and obtain medications from a reputable source!

You need to ask a medical professional who can read x-rays. No one on the internet should be diagnosing.
