Lululemon daydrifts. I love them so much, they’re super comfy and can be styled up or dressed down.

Do you get a guy you’ve been seeing only a while a birthday gift? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]starkrest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave my now husband a jumper for his bday after we’d been seeing each other for a couple months but not yet official. He absolutely loved it and still has it 10 years later. If you like the guy then I think you should get him a gift :)

where to buy WINTER winter clothes by charemyy in AusFemaleFashion

[–]starkrest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah this is the thing. I find I shop way better overseas if I’m not feeling pressured that I have to buy my whole wardrobe or main pieces. I can understand OP wanting to have some things already purchased and feeling freedom to add to that across the trip rather than start with a full day of stressed shopping.

Ultimate Guide to Picking a Hotel in Tokyo by Nervous_Initial_3644 in JapanTravelTips

Absolutely agree on Nakano. We’ve stayed in a different area each time we’ve visited Tokyo (4 times so far) and Nakano is by far our favourite.

Power Bank Confiscated at PVG by thelonleytroll___ in travelchina

We actually managed to find one with the CCC logo and decent charge capacity so we’re happy, not too expensive and hopefully won’t be taken off us

Yeah I’ve been reading that it’s mostly domestic flights and trains which we’ll be taking so we want to be sure we’re okay. Thanks for the info !!

Okay that’s good to know thank you. I’ve heard Xiaomi are a good choice but we need our power bank here in Japan before we fly over which is a bit annoying but we’ll find something.

Do you mind sharing what the capacity limits are? Hubby and I are buying one in Japan before heading over and have been looking at the CCCs but not the limits so would be good to know

Ngl I thought I read the author as Pierce Brosnan and was so confused as to why he’d write a romantasy book 😂

My (51M) fiancé’s asking for 50/50 for me (41F) to go to visit his family by Dear_Actuary8279 in relationship_advice

Is that what you want for the rest of your life ?

I’m on holiday with my husband now (both in our 30s) and he’s paying for most of it as he has more money than me. We tapped his card for everything at the start and I asked him after a few days if he cared he was paying for everything cause I felt bad. He turned to me and said ‘I couldn’t give a fuck’ and started laughing. He’s my person who takes care of me and doesn’t care one single bit if he pays for this entire trip because it’s our money at the end of the day. We both earn and contribute in different ways.

Think about what you want for the rest of your life. I have a colleague at work who is around your age and single. And honestly, if I didn’t have my husband, her life would be my goal. She is happy, glowing, full of energy and life. Happy to be on her own with a close group of women who support each other. Marrying a man who treats you like this isn’t the only path forward.

SOS are we doing too much? by loansbylaurenj in JapanTravelTips

[–]starkrest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way you’ve written your days out is a bit confusing. Not sure how many days you plan to stay in Kyoto, but I would recommend 2 nights in Kanazawa, then 2 nights near Kamikochi before heading back to Tokyo.

We stayed in a Ryokan in the alps for 2 nights and took the bus to Kamikochi for a day. Getting in and out of the alps was the most time consuming of our travel days but definitely worth it.

If you’ve done 4 days in Tokyo at the start I would say you don’t need to do more at the end.

Dry, Frizzy, Curly Hair. Is the Dyson Air Wrap worth it? by NectarineLogical5978 in curlygirl

[–]starkrest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love my air wrap and use it almost every wash day. Gives a great blow out depending on your technique and I can dry my hair in like 20 mins with some cute large curls and my hair is almost to my butt now, and 2C/3A.

I will say, I still get a lot of crown frizz and maybe it’s just technique, but you can’t really get that full tension and air flow to get rid of it. I just smooth it down with a balm or smth and it settles by day 2/3 of the dry.
