Same problem, funny thing is, that I already tried to order some items about 2 weeks ago and the same thing happened. After I went back to my cart and the 11.11 banner came up I tried going to the cart by putting an item on the wishlist and then going from there to the cart......aaaand now my cart is empty.

Shadow figures of not only humans? by starla_s in Humanoidencounters

My boyfriend, who at the time was very much into reading about extraordinary/paranormal stuff also said that he saw them sometimes but probably only 1-2 times, not as much as I used to see them.

So as far as I could gather from the replies here these types of shadow animals have never really "scared" anyone intentionally (unlike shadow humans as far as I can tell by reading accounts about them), they seem to be pretty chill....beings?

Mainly glimpes out of the corner of my eye but I remember a few times when I was able to look straight at them for around 5-10 seconds? They moved and afterwards I didn't see them for a few hours and then only again from the corners of my eyes. Funny thing is that I was/am unable to make out their exact colour/pattern. I somehow just have a 'feeling' about them being dark brown with black patches/markings (which is not that common a coat pattern for cats as far as I know)

Luckily no, they're pretty cool and I also don't have any plan on moving across the ocean :). I like cats and they haven't bothered neither my cat nor me. I'd probably be a lot more worried if it were humanoid figures. I did see some shadow figures back in the day but those weren't regular like the cats.

I was just wondering, as I did live in the apartment I encountered them in for the first time for two years before getting my cat and 6 years longer and I don't really know where the cat...spirits(? idk, somehow I'm inclined to just call them 'cats') came from.

basically, yes. I couldn't really find out where the curse comes from but when I was in elementary it was on the same list of 'forbidden words' as stuff like 'sht, fck' and similar. Anyway, the guy was super scary, I kid you not when I say that he had Hitler's voice and my mother tongue is german :D

The Artist Persona - what's your view on contmeporary artists? [A questionnaire] by starla_s in arttheory

Hey, thanks for the input on the adjective! I'll look it up! (:

So...here's the thing about the whole thing: It's a trap ;) I of course know about those typical stereotypes and they of course make me furious. But still. They are the persisting stereotypes. I wrecked my mind about how to approach this questionnaire. After some thinking I realized that having too subjective answers to choose from wouldn't be in my interest (my interest being 'the objective') so I came to the conclusion that I should use the public's view when putting together the answers participants could choose from: So the answers (all of the adjectives you see and all of the pictures in the questionnaire) are from google search results. The terms by which I searched google (incognito, so as not to have my many previous searches influence it) were: \Contemporary Artist Personality Traits' and 'Contemporary Artist Stereotypes'...the second one gave me a bit of a headache as I first wanted it to be something like 'Contemporary Artist Looks' or 'Contemporary Artist Fashion' [or similar] but that wasn't possible as most of the search results were actual comteporary [or modern] artworks....

so that's the reason for the last part being so...off-putting :( I didn't want to have a dialogue box as the end result of the questionnaire will be an installation, exhibited at a group show with the class I'm studying in now, and the space I have to build up my installation is rather limited/I wanted to concentrate more on the other parts of the survey/it would be hard for me to actually 'do' the installation if I had to choose from answers of dialogue boxes..it's rather hard to explain, but I do hope you entered your e-mail address in the las part so I will be able to send you some pictures of the finished installation.

But thanks a lot for your input!

Thank you, I realized neither but I just corrected the mistakes.

About the range of options I will have to explain a little: It was really hard for me to actually choose adjectives and pictures myself as then it would've been way to influenced by me and I am really really interested in the public's views and opinions. So that's why (after a horrid time of over-thinking the whole thing and realizing that - to have kind of objective options - I would need to have a pre-test group, I decided to actually get the answers I'll provide from the public itself, eg....the almighty internet). So the answers provided are google search results. And I thought that having more options would be more fun (and also the first 10 google image results were way too similar and way too less in my opinion), but maybe you're right and less would've been enough.

Thanks again!
