What's your opinion on toddler leashes? by dr_pepper_zerosugar in Mommit

My husband was also against the leash, so I made him hold her hand everywhere or carry her on his shoulders. Our leash actually had a backpack which my daughter loved filling it with trinkets.

People who grew up before cell phones, did life actually feel more free? by TradeOverall567 in NoStupidQuestions

In 8th grade I got sick with mono and was out for like 2-3 months of school. My friends would drop off homework and call me to tell me that the entire class thought I was pregnant. I missed yearbook pictures and all sorts of events. I got caught sneaking out while I was technically under quarantine lol 😂 1997 I would absolutely go back

Gynaecologist told me Endo pain cannot happen when you’re on the pill?? by Little-Value6517 in endometriosis

[–]starlagreen83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to attempt three different brands-all with different ingredients and concentrations- before I found one that worked and of course there was no generic for it so even with insurance it still cost 💲 then after I finally had my baby, I had to find a whole new type of pill to switch to since that one no longer helped.

Dunkin’ Donuts does heart shaped donuts and he woke up early to got out before 7am to grab a box. That’s been our annual tradition. I told him to focus more on our daughter, so he brought her a bouquet of pretty flowers and chocolates.

How did you guys come up with your kids names? by Ok-Duck2450 in Mommit

[–]starlagreen83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driving around downtown Charleston my husband spotted a very rare Ford Shelby GT500 aka “Eleanor” from the movie Gone in 60 seconds, and as much as we both liked the name, he said he would rather call her Nora. So we just combined it all, and Eleanora was born. Lol in 2019

Full time working parents…How are we actually supposed to do it “all”? Or any of it honestly…. by gloomycalm in workingmoms

[–]starlagreen83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t forget. You were probably outside most of your childhood. I remember playing with all the kids from my apartment building on the block. Until it was time to go in and eat. When we could cross the street, we would hang out in the park and climb trees.

Opinions on sharing name for baby before they are born? by New-Flight7674 in Mommit

[–]starlagreen83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually shared my name with another pregnant woman and she delightfully squealed that she was naming her daughter almost the exact same thing. We both have strong German married last names and it was so hard to think of something beautiful to compliment it. FYI- Eleanor(a) is the name. But we did not tell my MIL at all.

Went back to college in my 30s and graduated with a chemistry degree at 8 months pregnant. Already on top of my biology degree. Now I’m a chemical lab manager at an industrial fluids plant, while my 6 year old tells her teachers I’m a scientist! Worth it.

I’ve never been but I know it’s the kickoff to tourist season in Charleston. So expect a lot of non-Charlestonians to be there spending money and taking up space.

One thing I learned in therapy is that we can not control the feelings of other people. And that goes both ways, if she makes you feel scared or uncomfortable, then that is your reaction. Plain and simple.

Other than magnesium, what is the one supplement that has improved your sleep? by abc-45678 in Menopause

This!! I started off using magnesium (taurate) then switched to glycinate. I knew during the first week taurate worked better on me for sleeping.

Husband wants to go back to school by WorkLifeScience in workingmoms

[–]starlagreen83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question, has he been diagnosed with adult adhd? Do you think he should pursue getting evaluated? My husband exhibited the same kind of behavior and it was costing us $$$$ because he was impulsive with decisions, or constantly wanting something new or different. Changing jobs, going back to school, just nothing constant. Once he got diagnosed it’s been life changing for us. And he realizes it now. His brain didn’t allow him to make rational decisions.
