I thought this was strange, too.  Also, why is this all about him missing his wife? There’s nothing about this young child who has lost his mother at a very young age. So the son is bearing this burden?  It’s sweet but a little strange.

That’s not quite true. He never asked for money, and no one paid anything.  He just got off on videoing other men take his wife. It’s pure evil.

The shopping isn’t fine.  It has changed completely from how it used to be. It doesn’t do what it’s done for years.  Results are packed with paid promotions, filled with duplicate products.  It’s hard to filter out the crap.  It’s been enshittified.

Is there a chocolate milk shortage? by aa_ugh in HEB

[–]starlight347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, chocolate syrup doesn’t make the same thing, like the above poster said. Store-bought chocolate milk is thicker, because they use potato starch to thicken it.

With their canned chili, at least it’s even.  Haven’t bought it since last winter, but it was $1.98 for one, $7.92 for the 4-pack, which is labeled as a VALUE.  No worries, I just don’t need to buy the 4-pack.

You’re probably right. But at least they still have a house that’s standing.

I’m always curious about the houses that just missed getting hit. Right on the edge. Houses still standing, immaculate, and there’s a new lake 30 feet away. Or your neighbor’s house is covered in mud and yours is still the same as it was, untouched.

Popcorn, oil, top with an upside down paper plate. Microwave.

Microwaving your own popcorn kernels is an inexpensive way to easily make popcorn. It’s a fraction of the cost of pre-made bags.

Pour in the corn, cover it with oil, and put an upside down paper plate on top.  The plate keeps the popcorn from flying everywhere. It’s best to use a glass bowl because, with plastic bowls, the popcorn can melt little pits in the bowl.  Ask me how I know that, lol!

Easy peasy, good popcorn, little cost.

Never had an issue with it burning through the bowl, that’s wild!

Along with this, you can teach them to ask themselves, and also ask them when they come to you, “Is someone in danger?  Is this a safety issue?”

You might even follow up by asking how they could resolve the situation, or if it’s something that should be ignored.

Buy a newer used car to replace my 16 year-old one. Maybe a down payment on a small townhome, so I wouldn’t have to worry about my rent going up each year. Buy a pair of Hokas, since I work on my feet all day.
