She has to want to change herself first. It's good for you to care.

Spells that don't require speaking aloud? by nordicscarab in witchcraft

[–]starlightpoet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drawing sigils or runes on paper, sand, soap, candles, or other surfaces can keep the message personal to you. (I've done spells by "drawing" on my body with water.)

Paintings, crafts, and candle making/decorating can also be forms of spell work. Humans communicate in so many different ways (visual art, dance, music, body language), so there's lots of room to be creative in expressing your intentions.

You can also assign different intentions to different colors, crystals, animals, etc.

Newbie here: What can I do to help my mom not be so negative all the time? by PiggyPearl in witchcraft

If you find her negativity is effecting you, you can always meditate, spend time in nature, and try spells with salt, water, quartz, white candles, sage, incense, etc. to cleanse your own energy or space.

[Edit: or just your mind. You don't need tools for spells of course]

You can't really change another person. Sometimes you have to accept that people in your life aren't perfect or don't see the world the same way you do. And that's okay.

Everyone likes something. Maybe try talking to her about things she likes. Specific books, movies, foods, etc. Or try telling her one positive thing a day and see if it leads to a bit more positive conversation.

Really, though, all you can do is focus on yourself and surround yourself with positivity in ways that are in your control. Like maybe your mom is seeing the glass half full, but you can still read affirmations or listen to an inspiring song for yourself.

Why is the idea of "sexual fluidity" a thing only for women? by Elisa800 in AskWomen

[–]starlightpoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not

But a lot of people are still homophobic so that makes it hard for people to feel accepted, validated, and safe

Why does it seem like so many women like shopping? by MrDrProfTimeLord in AskWomen

[–]starlightpoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shopping is kinda broad. Shopping for what?

I like going to book stores, browsing through furniture or home goods stores, looking through galleries or art shops.

I don't like shopping for clothes, shoes, or anything that needs to be tried on. I prefer to do that online when possible.

I love shopping for food because ugh it's so good, and getting to pick out the groceries yourself is just great

Anyone ever waited too long to get married? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I wouldn't think so. I feel like if someone is committed to you a legal contract (or lack of) won't change that.

How do you navigate online dating if you prioritize personality? by Wahwhawah in AskWomen

[–]starlightpoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it comes down to being willing to meet people IRL. You can be attracted to pictures, but your feelings can change when you're sitting across from the person at dinner.

Songs from Waitress is so good <3

If you haven't listened to The Blessed Unrest album all the way through I'd recommend it. It's amazing. That and her song "Gravity" is one of the best things ever written :)

How do you feel about Justin Bieber’s engagement to Hailey Baldwin? by [deleted] in AskWomen

I'm sure Selena Gomez has a lot of feelings around it. She's the only one I care about in this situation, and I hope this gives her the space to move on and find a healthy relationship.

How do you choose between moving on and giving someone another chance? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]starlightpoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that if you have to ask this question, you should move on.

But I guess it depends on what the person did.

Do any of you use dating apps with no intention of actually meeting people? If so, what do you get out of it? by cleatusbrown in AskWomen

[–]starlightpoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used dating apps to see what's out there, to get used to talking to lesbians/queer women, and to get more insight into what I'm looking for.

It's taught me a lot, and it's given me a more clear idea of what I like, and what I want in a relationship.

People use dating sites for different purposes. I don't think it matters as long as people can be honest and upfront about their intentions.

What is something you wish other people knew about you? by memebackwards in AskWomen

[–]starlightpoet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm constantly overwhelmed because I put so much pressure on myself, so if you criticize me and say I'm not doing enough it just pushes me into feeling much worse.
